Overview:

Electric Vehicles are a key part of our tomorrow and how we get there. If we can get all the fossil fuel vehicles off our roads, out of our seas and out of our skies, we'll have a much better environment. This community is where we discuss the various different vehicles and news stories regarding electric transportation.

In my experience, a lot of Republicans are anti-EV, even after Trump all but gave Elon a blowjob on the White House lawn hawking Teslas.

Republicans have been shills for oil companies for decades - claiming that climate change is a hoax and doing their best to curb emissions standards. As a result, most of their voting base sees EVs as a made up solution to a problem that doesn't exist - and have a fairly hostile attitude towards them.

When I first started driving an EV, it was fairly common for people to cut me off in traffic or refuse to let me merge. Much more so than when driving a gas car.

Yes but there isn't really a rational political thought behind it. Sure maybe you're pro oil for some dumb reason, but it's not like the oil industry is going away because of EV's. From an economical standpoint, EV's just make more sense these days. And I feel that's why they are pissed off because their only jelling option has gone away, well besides maybe 'think about the range!'.

If you're only affliction with it is because your party says so, then forgive my French but, you're officially clinically retarded.

I agree, but I'm also continually amazed at the amount of bullshit talking points they continue to come up with. My neighbor is full blown Republican, like has Fox News running 24/7 in his house. I gave his kid a ride to school and his kid told me that I should be paying more in taxes for my EV because it's so heavy and destroying the roads (something he must've heard from his dad or the TV).

I pointed out that his dad's Tahoe weighs 1,500 pounds more than my EV.

You know what, we actually do pay more. My state has a $240 or so ev surcharge on our annual registration.
