Yeah I had a Facebook friend say "This will be unpopular, but I disagree with the two tax breaks being proposed by both candidates."

It had me scratching my head. I've yet to hear Trump propose an actual policy about tax breaks. I heard him ramble about shit and then the media sane-washes it into a policy.

For example, not too long ago Trump said to some CEOs that he'd like to get the corporate tax rate to 20% because it sounded like a "nice, round number". That is an absolutely insane way to set a tax rate.

But the media took it and ran with it and you saw headlines all over the place about Trump's super serious tax policy. Saying "20% sounds nice" isn't a fucking policy!! There was no thought or planning to see the impact of such a rate. Just "yeah that sounds nice". Fuck this guy and people that cover up for his ramblings.

I'm glad they're doing it. This sane-washing shit drives me crazy. You constantly see headlines saying things like "Trump proposes new policy making guaranteeing sunshine and rainbows for everyone" when in reality, a Trump supporter asked him about lowering food prices and he went in a 15 minute rant that included him saying "and I am the best at sunshine, the sunshine loves me... and don't even get me started at the rainbows... my communist opponent hates rainbows but not me, the rainbows said 'sir, you are the best at sunshine and rainbows, more than anyone has ever seen'."

It's amazing how effective the right-wing media ecosphere is at protecting their candidates. Somehow they can take Trump ranting like a lunatic about immigrants eating cats - and then convince their supporters that it only happened because Kamala had secret spy earrings and the moderators were in kahoots with her.

Worth pointing out that she died in August of 2022* - not long after Roe v Wade was overturned. Apparently it took a while for the hoops to be jumped through to officially call this a preventable death.

So it's very, very likely that many women have died as well.

My neighbor eats this shit up. She's constantly saying "Candace Owens said...". What's worse is she thinks that because she likes Candace that she can't possibly be a racist. Despite how many times she says racist shit.

There are videos of people reacting to hearing Megadeth's Holy Wars... the Punishment Due for the first time. I enjoy the song, but I first heard it when I was probably like 10 and don't really remember the first time. Would be fun to hear it with a fresh pair of ears.

Example reaction video: https://youtu.be/sh8wxc4tctE

That was a really fun book to listen to. He narrates the second one as well, but it didn't capture lightning in a bottle the same way.

Probably shouldn't mention that if you get asked about how you got started at your kid's school career day.

...and it isn't Denver. Has that ever happened before?

Video and title aren't mine. Just posting for discussion purposes.

Two armed people have been detained, Kansas City police said.

I used to use RIF, which had a setting to toggle whether or not NSFW links were saved in your browsing history. I noticed that if I open up a NSFW link in Jerboa, it opens a new Chrome window and then the visited link is shown in my browser history. Is there a way to toggle that off, or request a feature to add that to a future version of Jerboa?
