I feel like there's one of those IQ bell curve memes: the low IQ "I just enjoy the game", middle is "but what about XYZ and the optimal experience and the format", and on the right with high IQ "I just enjoy the game".

I have watched enough horror movies to know that the critics and people who review things online are so far out of my taste-zone that their opinions are entirely meaningless to me. Don't get me wrong, it's nice to see an analysis that makes you view something in a new light and really think about it, but the online dredge of "X thing is not good and you can't like it" is stupid.

To grossly misuse Platonic idealism, a game is a good game if you enjoy it. A movie is a good movie if you enjoy it. A book is a good book if you enjoy it. What the hell else is there?!
