I want to replace my old GameSir G3s with a controller preferably under €70-75. Initially I wanted an european gamepad but the only 2 options (ready2gaming and snakebyte) was so non existent or questionable that I had to swallow my EU nationalism.

Gaming style:

  • Only use controllers where it's highly recommended
  • Preferred genre for controllers would be arcade racing and JRPGs mostly
  • Will only play on wireless (2.4ghz)

Preferences:

  • Either TMR or high quality HE sticks
  • Doesn't look boring (preferably it has some amounts of LED / RGB)
  • Xbox stick position layout (I want to try it out)
  • Linux compatibility (don't care about consöles)
  • Doesn't have a shit QC (8bitdo's are apparently like that)
  • I have larger hands, so maybe not a small controller

Currently these are some controllers that seems to be in my range. I'm interested if you know about even better controllers.

  • GameSir Cyclone 2
  • GameSir Supernova
  • FlyDigi Direwolf 4?

I own the Speedlink Rait NX RGB, which works fine under Fedora.

TMR, Transparent RGB, 2.4GHz, dirt cheap and good build quality. Even has 2 programmable macro buttons on the back, no software needed.

That is a really cool and respectable controller! The first and probably only EU controller mentioned here (atleast it name technically). Unfortunately I have already took the pill and bought the Cyclone 2 before you, however where did you find that this has TMR? I searched Speedlink's website and they only mention HE sticks (+ I've never seen a TMR controller which listed PS3 compatibility without mentioning PS4 or PS5) https://www.speedlink.com/en/RAIT-NX-RGB-Gamepad-Wireless-Wired-for-PC-Android-Switch-OLED-Lite-clear-transparent/SL-650115-CR

Maybe I'm just blind, I'm still interested tho since it's EU designed. I guess you don't know but what is the latency of your controller? There are usually barely any reviews about cheap EU made / designed controllers compared to the other names.

Oh sorry, I meant hall effect (Sticks and Triggers), late night brain glitch...

The latency is definitely a lot lower than using Bluetooth (I hate Bluetooth latency with input devices) - I'd recon it's somewhere around 40-50 ms, but that's just an estimate based on how it feels to play Hades 2.

I bought it after reading this review (German): https://www.hardwarezoom.net/artikel/Speedlink_Rait_NX_RGB_Test_Review-58678

For the price of 35€ it even has gyro. Previously I bought Microsoft controllers, but this one is better, cheaper, looks nicer and is tough.
