That deep 3 by Wemby lmao just pure confidence

Oh yeah was not the smartest play but the rest of the team was playing a bit out of sorts and he made it. If he missed it definitely would have been questioned more

Holy shit I was so stressed lmao. Insane OT performance by Wemby. Can we cancel the ECF and just call this the finals?

[–] TrippyFocus@lemmy.ml 3 points 19 hours ago

Wemby with a strong finish. Can’t wait for a whole series of this!

[–] scytale@piefed.zip 5 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Harper and Bryant playing big minutes in one of the most anticipated WCF matchups in recent memory. Must be surreal to them. I can also imagine the pressure.

[–] David_Eight@lemmy.world 2 points 21 hours ago

Harper didn't even play in the NCAA tournament, Rutgers didn't make the tournament lol

[–] scytale@piefed.zip 3 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

I don’t understand why Spurs are forcing the offense through Castle when Harper is getting to the basket easier.

[–] RandAlThor@lemmy.ca 2 points 19 hours ago (1 children)

They don't trust Harper to run the offense and handle the ball at this point. But next year I think Harper will have more of those duties I think.

[–] scytale@piefed.zip 1 points 18 hours ago

True, but near the end of the game it was clearly Harper who was able to get better shots up. And Castle’s turnovers weren’t really helping. But yeah, Castle has the best passing connection to Wemby and he’s their best bet to be able to get the ball to Wemby.

2OT!! What a start to this series

[–] TrippyFocus@lemmy.ml 3 points 20 hours ago

Down to the wire here lol

Spurs look a little shaky in the last 4 minutes of the game! Can they hold on!

[–] David_Eight@lemmy.world 2 points 20 hours ago

Offense looks so forced.

[–] scytale@piefed.zip 4 points 21 hours ago

Kornet looks nervous lol. And he’s the veteran on the team.

[–] scytale@piefed.zip 3 points 20 hours ago

Harper’s game is so effortless man. Dude is unstoppable when going downhill.

[–] RandAlThor@lemmy.ca 3 points 20 hours ago

Spurs have made OKC their home. They look so comfortable.

[–] RandAlThor@lemmy.ca 2 points 19 hours ago

DOUBLE OT! LOL

What do the Spurs never post up Wemby? Tallest Thunder player is like 6'9 right now.

[–] scytale@piefed.zip 5 points 22 hours ago* (last edited 21 hours ago) (1 children)

Caruso is good at positioning and pushing him out. That’s Wemby’s weakness: smaller, strong defenders; because he has a high center of gravity.

[–] David_Eight@lemmy.world 3 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Bro needs to stop skipping leg day lol. Physically I think Kareem is the closest player to Wemby, he needs to call Cap for some tips cause that's some weak shit.

[–] scytale@piefed.zip 3 points 18 hours ago* (last edited 18 hours ago) (1 children)

Unless he gets like Yao with tree trunk legs, it’s really a weakness for super tall players because of physics. Chet and KP have the same issue. Kareem didn’t play the way mobile bigs play today. They sacrifice mobility if they get bigger, so Wemby would definitely prefer to keep his frame. Besides, he has already bulked up, if you compare him to his rookie season. Chet on the other hand is still skinny af. I think Wemby has like 30 lbs on him.

[–] David_Eight@lemmy.world 2 points 15 hours ago

Kareem 7'2 - 225lbs

Wemby 7'4 - 235lbs

They're listed as pretty close in size.

[–] TrippyFocus@lemmy.ml 6 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Really feels like this is the finals lol

[–] David_Eight@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Knicks are playing incredible basketball but, I can't help but feel that's just a mirage and they'll fall apart in the finals.

[–] TrippyFocus@lemmy.ml 1 points 20 hours ago

Yeah I think we’ll know more about them during the conference finals but it feels hard to fully trust just yet!
