i know we lost but the nba is so corrupt. they decided who wins games some nights
Why do you think it's corruption instead of incompetency when refs of all sports suck ass?
Tennis is lucky enough to have moved on to electronic line calling.
Even in a sport where all you have to do is look at a line and call it in or out, the linespeople sucked ass in tennis too.
the ball is going 200kmph, its a bit different to Durant being out of bounds and passing the ball
Because we have a huge sample size that shows refs blatantly favoring one team over the other. If it were incompetence we'd see a mixture of bad calls.
You may be too young to remember when an NBA referee named Tim Donaghy was caught betting on and influencing the outcomes of games. Most of us find it hard to believe he was the only one, and referees associated with him are still in the league.
Combine that with certain important games where high profile teams clearly got an advantage from the refs, and it should be obvious why fans are skeptical about the referees.
You might not be old enough to remember the scandal clearly enough, since Donaghy was willing to sing for anyone and everyone that would listen, be it interviews, his book, authorities, whoever.
He made his accusations very clear. The whole thing about being a "company man" and choosing which video complaints to enforce in the playoffs to make series/playoffs in general better for the NBA. The Kings vs Lakers series stands out in that regard.
People conveniently forget that the FBI/NBA already investigated Scott Foster. It'd be ridiculous not to, given the amount of phone calls that happened between the two during the season.
This whole "NBA refs are all corrupt" just doesn't pass occam's razor in the least. Similar energy as "jet fuel doesn't can't melt steel beams".
Ok Scott, sure thing.
It's why the NBA will never be my favorite sport. (unless they fix it, which seems extremely unlikely)
I don't even have a team. I have my preferred players and so I will root for their teams in certain situations, but mostly I just want to see good basketball and it's incredibly frustrating how frequently the refs decide games.
