Hasn't this been out for a while?

I think wingspan is cool cause you can learn about the real world.

I would honestly rather see a plant or mushroom version of wingspan.

Yeah I was getting serious dejavu reading this title. Wyrmspan has been out for ages.

The article is about the digital version on Steam... not that it makes that very clear. I'm like 80% sure the author has no idea this is a port of a physical board game. But yeah, the digital version is new. It's not even released yet.

Definitely, there is even already the sequel to Wyrmspan out: Finspan, which is again about real world biology, this time fish.

Oh cool, I hadn't heard of finspan yet

It has been out for at least a year. I think it's a good marketing play if nothing else. I know a lot of people that wouldn't play that bird game but would play a dragons game.

I get it, dragons are cool, but I wish people would take the time to learn more about nature as much as they do imaginary creatures.

As a kid, I knew more Pokemon than I did birds and looking back on it, it's sad. I've been learning more about birds, insects, trees, plants, and fungi as I get older and it has been like unlocking aspects of the world.

This is all to say, I think the original wingpsan is a good game, and I hope to see more like it that can teach actual facts.
