I was interacting in a discussion on the threads all and asks the question of what lenses they decided to shoot a certain photo with, they responded that they only divulge that information for a specific tier of this Patreon. Is it just more or is they really weird and gatekeepy? Hell, if anyone asked me what glass I was shooting on I’d happily let them know the lenses and anything else they wanted to know, just seems hella weird to me.

I run a business and have been asked for advice, it's never crossed my mind to say 'pay me first' when a simple question is asked. I had mentors and pay it forward. Lotta greedy folks in this thread.

That's fine if you're getting a random question every now & then. For someone who is well known with lots of followers on social media, they probably get many questions a day from random people. After a certain point, it's just impossible to answer every question. So people will do stuff like make a patreon, so they can answer questions & interact with the smaller number of people who sign up & pay.
