So I was recently browsing Etsy having switched over for a bit for a change from chrono24 and eBay while watching Tv and I came accross some interesting watches. The first thing I saw that caught my eye was a Speedmaster for $1549 AUD. A pretty good price but not unheard of or super low for a speedy. But for the particular model it was well under value. I looked at the sellers other items and they had multiple other watches for a similar price, most of which should have been worth thousands more. All with box, papers, swing tags and manuals etc. But they were extremely undervalued. For example an Omega Seamaster Planet Ocean Chronograph for around the same price with what looked like box papers etc.

What is your experience with buying watches on Etsy or online? With the age old adage If it's too good to be true it probably is. So what's the catch? Are they extremely good fakes? A scam? Have they fallen of the back of a truck? Or just a good deal?

Part of me wants to pull the trigger but it's such a gamble. If it's fake I've spent a lot on a fake watch. If it's genuine it's an absolute bargain. What's puzzling me is the box and papers.

Yeah the one I was looking at didn't have box or papers so it was an easier decision to make. I don't know that much about the papers etc but you would think you could verify it off these right?
