We can’t keep calling it the In-Season Tournament forever and giving it an actual name helps legitimise it

Call it the NBA Cup or something, saying In-Season Tournament every time is too long

Lakers win the first version. In a few years post-LeBron retirement it's the LeBron James cup. Done.
