It was satirical.
If that's true, you suck at it. Git gud n00b
The way you wrote it, there's literally no way to tell.
It doesn't even make sense as satire.
~~Yeah, that's fine. It still stimulated discourse. And the people who believe it to be true inevitably surface and reveal themselves.~~
Actually, what I wrote was not correct. I wasn't thinking carefully about what the comment was.
Almost no one thinks Harris would have limited refugees to white South Africans. But a lot of people think there is just one party and they are just pretending to be different. And my comment was meant to mock them.
It’s really sad that the state of discourse in our society has reached the level where this is valid point.
The original comment was not a believable or valid point.
Satire is more than just writing something that's obviously false.
Their comment lacked any satirical point, so it just reads as low effort rage-bait.
The satirical point was that people who think "they're all the same" are obviously wrong. There is a difference when it comes to shit like this.
That’s a little harsh. Given the audience of the post, a politics board on lemmy, it’s rather obvious what their point is.
Namely: they’re criticizing voters who refused to vote for Kamala (and by extension the Democratic Party) because the oft repeated “both sides are the same” complaint.
I sincerely doubt that OP’s intent was to bait lemmy leftists into a frenzied rage to defend Kamala against this obvious slander. :/
Satire is dead. Without an "/s", these days shit is taken at face value.
