Essentially a more well rounded KD type player who can do it all: 3 level scorer, elite defense, with tremendous size that can stretch the floor. Shouldn’t teams be on the lookout for them rather than drafting traditional big men? How have teams only realized this the past two years with Wemby and Chet?

Because they tend to get hurt. Chet got hurt already without even playing a regular season game.

They aren’t comparable to KD. KD is 6’11 not 7’5 like Wemby. It’s completely different.

KP is the best comparison and he literally gets hurt a lot. Especially early on.

I wish them both the best. They’re extremely special talents but we’ve seen this movie before.

And this applies for traditional bigs too. Once you go over a certain height the injuries just pile up. It’s the feet, knees, hips. It’s just hard.

The sweet spot is like 6’11 to 7’2. And it’s 7’2 for a traditional big with weight. The best 3 level scorer bigs are KD and Dirk and both are way more natural looking then Chet and Wemby because they’re not sooooooo tall
