Why are there so many Sam's dickridder on Reddit talking as if Sam is the main man behind OpenAI's recent success over Ilya, who was already an accomplished scientist when he was still in academia with Hinton?
If they fire Ilya over Sam and he move Google/Meta/X, I believe they would surpass OpenAI very quickly.
Well with that attitude enjoy now Twitch 2.0!
Ilya is pro-safety and Sam is pro-immediatism and turning it into a product (atleast to people of Reddit), it pretty much boils down to that
Redditors are mostly decently privileged people that rather see thing they can use rather than thing being developed safely
Bots?
If it was up to Ilya there wouldn't be ChatGPT or GPT-4 for public use. So I don't see Google/Meta/X want to hire Ilya (on his terms)
baseless assumptions
It's been astounding seeing how reddit in their ignorance have made SA the hero. I mean really, the tech bro who brags about AI doom to hype the tech he's selling (he doesn't even have a degree). Reddit typically hates these types, but I guess we have some kind of GME capitalist worship thing going where reddit decided 'the board' was evil. And don't get me wrong, the association with EA which is kind of culty from some board members doesn't look good either, but that's not what reddit picked up on.
Honestly on reddit I see more people defending the wealthy class than tearing them down whether it is Musk or Trump or Taylor Swift... It is scary and stunning.
Reddit is astroturfing heaven with morons.
