Linux
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Linux is a family of open source Unix-like operating systems based on the Linux kernel, an operating system kernel first released on September 17, 1991 by Linus Torvalds. Linux is typically packaged in a Linux distribution (or distro for short).
Distributions include the Linux kernel and supporting system software and libraries, many of which are provided by the GNU Project. Many Linux distributions use the word "Linux" in their name, but the Free Software Foundation uses the name GNU/Linux to emphasize the importance of GNU software, causing some controversy.

Honestly, we're so far that it's easier to look for unsupported games. Those include those with draconian anti cheat (see https://areweanticheatyet.com/) and those that can only be installed with the Windows store like Minecraft Bedrock edition (but for that the Android version works) and Gamepass games.
You can launch Minecraft Bedrock with the mcpelauncher of the Steam Deck or you can use Waydroid.
Protondb?
Thanks a lot! :)
Even if a game doesn't look like it'll work based on protondb, try it anyway. Many times I've had games that were marked as low ratings start up without any changes lol. I remember even when d4 beta came out, I saw people struggling to install and play it on the first weekend... Worked out of the box for me.
There's also the wine appdb on the winehq website.
Sort by platinum rating and that'll get you games that run with no (or exceedingly minimal) issues
Rule of thumb: if it doesn't require a rootkit anti-cheat, it's probably going to work
Here's a list that wasn't posted yet https://lutris.net/games
Looking at Steam Deck verified titles is also an option either on Steam or a third party website.
There's always Nethack.
