Would be hilarious, in light of sonys recent decisions, if it required a Live account to play.

Well if they include multiplayer then it will definitely require that.
Bruh, another game that has been remastered twice.
This would be a re-remaster (re-remake?) considering Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary released in 2011 was a remake of the original 2001 game.
Is he now the remaster chief?
And it plays great, too.
Unless they're going to completely redo every model and make the tedious levels less annoying what's the point in a remaster?
Obviously it's money. But it's gotta cost a lot to make it.
make the tedious levels less annoying
They'd better not touch the Library!
Oh God no, I didn't mean that. That level's iconic. I meant all the back and forth down identical hallways towards the end.
I actually really like Silent Cartographer. It feels like an action movie.
Assault on the control room is my personal favorite level to play, but Silent Cartographer is about as perfect a Halo level as you could ask for
The series peaked with that level. It is just that good.
It kind of is, now that I'm thinking about it. It has vehicle sections, tight quarters on-foot sections, big weapons, snipers... It has a sampling of just about everything.
I'm a huge Halo fanboy and even I don't need this.
I can't believe they're remastering Combat Evolved again, but not Halo 3.
Well, as long as they do a better job than the original CE Anniversary, I'll probably play it.
Honestly, 3 doesn't really need it. The art direction is excellent and just inceasing the render resolution works great. Same with ODST and Reach.
I tend to agree, but it would be nice to play with the nice, rich visuals of Halo 2 Anniversary. And not have to look at Lord Hood's craggy visage or the slightly polygonal Marine heads.
Reach, on the other hand: no remaster would improve how that game looks. Still a stunning bit of work all these years later.
I would like them to fix the 60 fps cutscene issue. None of the original cutscenes were designed for that high frame rate, they just artificially sped them up which makes a lot of the Halo 3 cutscenes look weird. I'd at least like a proper port, kind of like what Nixxes has been doing for Sony games on PC.
I swear they've already done this at least once.
They did. It was based on the PC version that Gearbox fucked up and it took ten years for the classic mode graphics to be fixed. The remastered graphics were a lazy mishmash of Halo 3 and Reach models haphazardly thrown together. The remastered level geometry also didn't match the actual geometry, which resulted in things like invisible trees blocking your bullets.
Who wanted this?
Me
Well I've got news for you. They already remastered CE years ago and it looks great.
According to who? Halo CE anniversary is higher fidelity than the original sure. But the art direction is all over the place and not at all consistent with the original style. Not to mention the fact they changed the geometry of everything without actually changing collision. Making shots hit walls/trees/objects that are no longer in that spot.
They also just took enemy models straight out of halo reach without any consideration for how those designs match the original games aesthetic.
If you like it, great. I'm happy you're able to enjoy it. But as someone who grew up with the original the anniversary version was a slap in the face and a blatant cash grab.
That being said I don't have much faith that a new remake would be much better.
It was also based on Gearbox's shoddy PC port, so the classic graphics were broken on release and stayed that way for about ten years.
Remake it from the ground up instead of using the busted Gearbox port, and I may be interested.
The online play is garbage. I played in H1 tournaments around the US back when it was good and would love for them to do it better than they did with their remake. The remake actually remade Halo 1 PC, not the Xbox version.
