I strongly suspect that "modernize" implies "microtransactions"...

Someone said they misspelled monetize and honestly yeah they're 100% right
"We milked the franchise for all its worth. Time to milk it some more with added nostalgia." Ubisoft, ca. 2024
"Right around Black Flag, we decided to basically stop all story development in the franchise. In an unexpected turn of events, all the new games have zero story development and people all prefer the old ones now."
The headline misspelled monetize.
Replacing stealth with microtransactions. Bravo Ubisoft. Bravo.
For only 7.99 you can get enough store points to open three Crates of Eden, each of which has a chance to give you four seconds of total invisibility or two silent takedowns!
Stealthy move indeed.
Ubisoft shit show incoming!
Yeah at first I was like 'oh interesting'. Then I thought: I'd say the Ezio collection was fine and needs no remake. Then I read they would put the Skull and Bones team on a Black Flag remake and was like 'yeah this is gonna fail, bad'
If they did a graphical update and just made the free running better, it could work.
I’ve been playing Black Flag and the free running is so frustrating.
The high/low visibility system from the original is also pretty clunky.
After Ubi's careless addition of microtransactions into games, I stopped buying Ubisoft games. After the whole unaddressed sexual harassment of the staff by executive officers scandal made news, I stopped playing even the Ubisoft games I own.
Interesting strategy after they already advertised their most recent game, Assassin's Creed Mirage, as going back to the roots...
