A California school board terminated the contract of its superintendent Wednesday, months after it was alleged that a mid-level supervisor and friend of the administrator's played a cruel joke on a subordinate by putting his desk on a roof.

Headlines a little weird, it's the top paragraph in the article but it's not indicative of the rest of the contact in the article.

Putting someone's desk on the roof isn't particularly cruel in my view. Doing it to a subordinate is a pretty dick move.

The guy that had the desk moved to the roof is a COVID denier. "He wrote on social media that the illness' spread “allows the sick, the old, the injured to meet its natural course in nature” and that the deaths of homeless people could at least fix what is a significant burden on our society. "

She was apparently protecting him.

The article says when the board gave their findings there was a round of applause. So she and he were apparently unpopular.

I'm a side note she was making over 300 grand while he was making $80. That's cuckoo levels of money for a school administrator.

In all fairness it doesn't really sound like he's a Covid denier. Its more like he's Pro-Covid. I'm not sure if thats worse though.

I ran into a handful of those during pandemic. Folks that would try to knowingly spread it (hastening mutations) so more people would get ill from an unknown disease we’re still learning about years later.

Better I'd say. He's at least trusting the science and the debate becomes one of morality, rather than stupidity.

Yeah, this looks like a 'straw that broke the camels back' type of situation. I wonder what else was on his 'rap sheet'.

I mean I'd be looking for a new job but my response to that shit would be like "cool, I'll just go watch Netflix while you get everything back in order."

Especially if it’s my boss doing that shit.

I’m gonna clock in, and gee look I can’t get my work done. Fix it or I’m calling in the hostile work environment.
