That shit was rough. Boone made some critical errors, he might be out of a job. Yankees definitely felt the pressure and didn't play their best ball.
But if Soto re-signs, they will be back in the World Series next year. Book it.

Will be interesting to see where Soto ends up. Mets have shown they're willing to open the wallet for the big players. Yankees have always been spenders. I could see some other teams that were just short of making it spending to get him as a long-term build-around piece. I've heard the Dodgers are in on the Soto Sweepstakes, but I don't think it makes sense from a financial perspective.
Most likely Yankees/Mets, but Toronto might also give it a shot. He's so expensive that only a handful of clubs will even have a chance. Dodgers probably can't afford him after paying Ohtani and Yamamoto last year.
I think from a baseball perspective, hitting in front of Judge makes the most sense for his career, but money could definitely tip the scales.
As a Giants fan, it's been tough rooting for the Dodgers, but they played pretty solid games without making too many mistakes. Everybody talks about Ohtani, but Freeman was absolutely phenomenal. The Yankees just folded in the last game. Given their payroll and star power, it was amazing to watch them make so many mistakes and then just give up.
All-in-all, a good series. Dodgers earned themselves a non-asterixed WS win. But at times, it was hard not feeling like here were two spoiled, rich-kid bullies having a foodfight.
Obligatory: FTD.
The $360M Man forgot that the season continues past 162 if your team keeps winning. Tough to win when you have a 6'7" hole in the 3-hole of your lineup.
Boone lost Game 1, then conceded the rest by staying with a broken lineup. He needs to go. If you can't have a hard conversation with your highest paid player when he's not performing, you shouldn't be managing a major league team.
Congrats Dodgers fans. I hope Ohtani heals up and you get to see him win a Cy Young next year.
I’m glad to see the Yankees lose, I hate them the most. It’s a shame that it was to the Dodgers, who I hate the second most.
Literally any other combination of teams from this year’s playoff field would’ve been one I would be happy to watch. Especially if we’d had Cleveland from the AL (longest title drought in the AL playoffs) and either San Diego or Milwaukee from the NL (never won a WS).
I can’t even take joy from Ohtani winning a WS, because of who he won with.
Instead we got the two teams with the most arrogant and entitled fanbases in the sport, so I’ve been watching Schitt’s Creek instead.
As a Mets fan, I tried really, really hard to hate the Dodgers, but can't do it. Ohtani is just a force of nature, he's that good. Freddie Freeman just isn't as hateable as, say, Bryce Harper is now or Chase Utley was back in the day. And it's hard to hate a team that does well when our pitchers keep walking them.
Yes, the Dodgers and Yankees are both buying all the players, but Uncle Steve has all the money, too, so now I can't legitimately gripe about their large payrolls when the Mets spend just as much on players who aren't on the team anymore.
I didn't watch any of it, but I guess I got what I wanted, which is a bunch of sad Yankee fans watching another team win the WS in their Stadium.
