Feel like this will be the most fun part

Honorary team general managers: INi analysts Charles barkley, Shaquille O'Neal, Kenny Smith and Candace Parker

Barkley, O'Neal and Smith draft their team rosters from pool of 24 NBA All-Star selections; Parker is GM of Castrol Rising Stars champion

Also first to 40 should help a bit, games shouldn’t drag on too much at least

I'm supporting team Rising Stars for sure!

What does Candace actually do as GM for the rising stars team?

I’ll take seeing something different for sure!

just cancel it, these gimmicks aren't going to help.

While I generally agree, I think making one all-star team a rising stars team will make things more interesting because I don't think players voted as all-stars will want to lose to the rising stars team (ego)

maybe but that will likely only help for one of the games, the other 2 will still probably be snoozefests. Also do you actually want to watch rising stars in an all star game? Isn't the whole point to watch all stars?

Imo there's nothing more boring than watching players 'play' an ASG who don't want to be in the ASG. You have a point about the intent of the ASG, but I'd rather watch exciting games with less marquee names than snoozefests with marquee names. I will probably root for the rising star team. And hopefully they win their first game so they're in the final, potentially improving 2/3 games. It'll be interesting what/if incentivizes Jokic or Kawhi, as examples, to exert themselves. With 3 games, the games are probably shorter, so that would help. FIBA's 10-minute quarters even feel punchier than 12 minutes

yeah I agree, and I don't think anything is going to fix that fundamental issue. they should focus on less intense skills competitions that are still fun to watch like the 3pt contest. Do like the NFL Pro Bowl with a bunch of events, keep score and award prizes.

You got some good ideas. I think expansion of last year's Steph versus Sabrina 3-point contest is on the table. Don't quote me on the this, but I heard Caitlin Clark and Klay Thompson mentioned as well, and a 2 men, 2 women format. That'd be dope! I also want to see more of that LED court. Just for fun, I want to see a game with temporary 'powerup spots' and maybe some are moving lol, for example 4 points for a shot within the arc, or a 5-point shot close to half-court (in moderation though to prevent too many heaves)

Remember when Charles Barkley picked Alan Iverson as the 1st pick for his best all-time team? This will not be pretty...

I always liked the idea of the winning division getting home field advantage in the championship. It would give players a lot more motivation.

but that would also devalue regular season record even more.

MLB (baseball) did that until pretty recently!
