I feel half annoyed with Google, but half of me wonders if this could possibly even be a real update or if it's time for a scan and factory reset.

If you're with T-Mobile; another major pain in the ass is known as AppSelector. Check in Settings > Apps for this pest and Disable it!!~

Actually, it looks like it was Verizon in this case. For what they charge, you'd think they wouldn't stoop so low.

I recommend buying a Motorola (Edge) phone, they don't have any crap on their phones and I they have great battery time.
