"We are here: we are one of the smallest countries in the world, but we play with 100 percent and it is just us, no other nationalities. Even Italy uses players from other countries, but we are just San Marino, so we are very proud of that."

...

"Regardless of the likely outcome of every game they play, none of the San Marino players suggests that representing their country is a burden and Di Maio is perhaps the best example of the joy that it brings. Born in Naples, he is the only non-Sammarinese in Costantini's squad, having waited 13 years for his San Marino nationality. He's now making up for lost time."

I'm not convinced they're the worst international team in the world, they just never win because they play in UEFA. They drew with St. Lucia last year and there are 11 worse-ranked team in Concacaf alone. Anguilla are absolutely terrible.

One day, the creation of UEFA Nations League will pay-off and this stat will have to be updated.

Still hold the record for the fastest goal scored against England!

I would actually watch that. It’d be very weird seeing them attack

“San Marino are never gonna win the league, but they turn up every week, don’t they, the pricks?”
