Holy shit what a cringe statement, was this written by a fan that thinks they're a lawyer or something?

Hey Liverpool fans, don't mistake the genuine sympathy that was turned into political influence which improved the game for a permanent political influence on football.

Nobody else gets "resolution" so fuck off, next time just score more goals?

[–] Ickx-14@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Yes lads! Go for them! The whole league needs this. Wish Merc were like this after the ‘human error’ farce in Abu Dhabi 2021.

This is embarrassing

[–] Comrade-Conrad-4@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Howard Webb is going to have to be in the VAR rooms every game lmao.

[–] chunt75@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Victim FC finally getting the short end of the VAR stick

[–] SnooPies5622@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

But have they tried worrying about other stuff

[–] TimBurtonSucks@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Hope they bring in the lawyers tbh. Only way to get something done

introduce challenge system or have both team provide a representative to be present in the VAR room

[–] browncheesestick@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

This is what I wanted. Escalate this shit. Fuck the pgmol and fuck these refs. Corrupt, insecure, and utterly useless.

[–] mutab1x@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Nice try Liverpool.

Official Statement Score Card Man Utd - 10+ Liverpool - 1

Glory Glory Man Utd

Isn’t it just truly beautiful how every football fan can put aside any rivalries and collectively hate the PGMOL

[–] hammer_of_grabthar@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I don't know exactly how, but it's time for a complete reform of refereeing in the Premier League. Maybe that involves each club having a representative with input into the training, post-match reviews, with full access to their reports and audio. Maybe that even includes a club official with additional training in laws of the game being within the VAR room to fight a club's cause and highlight anything that might be missed.

PGMOL hold far too much power. The league is successful despite them, and it's time the refs got back in their fucking box and do what they're told, every change IFAB and PGMOL have made in recent years seems to make the game worse, and their standards are appalling.

[–] Particular-Echo347@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Well shit happens, bad decision yes, but let's move on and go with the flow

[–] Scott_EFC@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

The thing that makes this totally unacceptable for me is after the initial mistake when the VAR team think the goal has been given, which is bad enough, is the fact they say nothing to the ref when Spurs are given a free kick and are not kicking off from the centre circle.

That obviously shows the goal hadn't been given, what were they doing? Clearly not looking at the screen. It's embarrassingly bad.

Human error does not cut it when it happens all the time for every team. There are no excuses when you have access to replays from 10 different angles. Why are referees a protected species ? They earn 200k a year and are in the 1%. If Vice Presidents at companies make wrong decisions , they get sacked and lessons are learned.

[–] NetsAreUs@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Klopp must be irritate with the club right now considering he told other managers they have other things to worry about when managers called the ref out after matches against his side.

[–] BostonTerriernut87@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Lawsuits incoming. Buckle up.

[–] meechinnyon@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

They probably weren’t arsy when Wolves’ goal was wrongly disallowed for offside in the FA cup because they couldn’t find the correct angle, they can keep crying for what I care of course they also fail to mention that their goal came from the refereeing wrongfully awarding them a free kick

[–] CroutonPerson@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

the point of VAR is to fix mistakes...........

[–] Nyushi@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Now this is my kind of statement.

Fingers crossed every club rallies behind this. We really can't let it continue like this.

[–] AJGibbo@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Not surprised. The idea of the VAR guys not correcting the referee when he didn't give the goal and then just saying 'it was a mistake' is straight bullshit. Sounds mental but if I wanted to screw a team over by not giving a goal, this is exactly how I'd have gone about it.

[–] snowkarl@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

In the meantime, we will explore the range of options available, given the clear need for escalation and resolution.

Fighting words lol

Ref missed one call lol.

[–] dewgtamingman@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Is there something I’m missing? It was a messed up decision with VAR involved. Happens all the time. Doesn’t make it better but what exactly is special about this one?

[–] Trippelsewe11@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I struggle to think of a club with a bigger victim complex and sense of entitlement than Liverpool.

Here's hoping the league punishes Liverpool thoroughly for this embarrassing online petition. Mistakes have happened to many teams, and a point was no guarantee for them as they RIGHTFULLY went down two players due to their team members playing on the edge of professionalism.

[–] _justtheonce_@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

That such failings have already been categorised as “significant human error” is also unacceptable. Any and all outcomes should be established only by the review and with full transparency.

This does seem like they've had enough of simply being apologised to.

It wasn't awful all around. One call was missed, granted, but the sendings off were valid.

The comment about exploring all available avenues is interesting. I think the problem is, at some point very shortly after the goal every official knows that we should have been 1 up. All of them. Nothing is done to rectify that for the entire game. Nothing of consequence happens by the time the referee knows.

It's a very bad look.

[–] smithdanvers@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I don’t see how biasing every decision to favour man United would help things but I suppose it’s worth a go

[–] TheHouseOfStones@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

This game in question is the most egregious robbery / worst officiated game I think I've seen since I started watching football in 2006. I didn't see that famous United vs Arsenal game but could it be the worst officiated game in PL history? Two nothing red cards and a legit goal taken away?

[–] MayorOfOnions@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Are pool the softest team to ever exist? They have 1 (really) bad call go against them after years of preferential treatment and they do this. I'd be embarrassed.

[–] andreew10@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Just release the audio, would be interesting to hear it and it's the least PGMOL can do at this point

[–] usernamethatcounts@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

It was a failure, singular; the offside was the error. The cards were correct. There wasn’t failures. Just one huge error.

We're going to war lads and I'm here for it

[–] scottishhistorian@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If Liverpool loses the league by less than 3 points then there'll be lawsuits.

[–] Comrade-Conrad-4@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

[–] Ludenz-@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

We’ll probably get a point deduction for not just accepting their ‘apology’ and moving on.

[–] L4stEvenings@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

What about the other 14 or so times over the past two seasons where PGMOL have issued apologies?? Nothing changed. Nothing will change again and the season will keep going. Regardless of your club allegiance this will keep happening to all of us. Some we will profit by and some we will feel hard done by. Sad state of the game currently.

They didn’t draw the lines when Arsenal drew Brentford last season either. It’s time for VAR real-time transparency.
