Lmfao your collection as a high schooler is more valuable than my entire collection 😂
Watches
A community for watch & horology discussion.
Hahaha, I bought them all second hand except the Casio if that changes anything
Dressy or Diver next!
Looks great. Not sure about your style but putting myself in your shoes I might also tend towards dress. In that case I'd be heavily considering a Vario Versa: https://vario.sg/collections/versa-reversible-watch-quartz
That’s super cool. Do you own one? How does it wear? The 12mm thickness worries me a bit because normally it would be totally fine but wondering if it looks off with a smaller rectangular shape
Seiko Diver.
Orient Kamasu
Seiko Cocktail Time. Web pics suck, go to YouTube for specific references. Orient Bambino.

Great point !
As a fellow high schooler I suggest slowing down a bit, 4 watches in 6 months is a lot especially since you just got into the hobby. My advice is to save up a bit of money and get a nice leather band/metal bracelet for the Hamilton, then once you have enough money in a year or so get a nice Tudor or Omega.
Need a diver, white face dial, and a brown or black leather quick swap strap.
Already have a brown leather strap for the Hamilton but I agree on the white dial
Honestly… I love my Military Timex. Super cheap ($20 on eBay)
This is it with a separate quick release strap I got.
A CasiOak is the logical next step. Cool collection by the way!
Fell for that same fake seiko 5 listing on eBay unfortunately
I’m glad I learned my lesson from 50$ instead of much more. Research is super important
What’s the rush? You’re in HS..
No rush, I won’t be buying anything immediately, just wanted some ideas from you guys. I’m really happy with the Hamilton and honestly wouldn’t mind wearing that everyday but it’s fun to mix it up sometimes
a dive watch, like a seiko srpd
surprised there’s no casioak gshock
sex up the collection a little
Oris
Everyone needs a g shock right?
I know you said dress or diver, but you may want to check out the Smiths Everest PRS-25.it’s an explorer style.Brand has a lot of historical and horological significance.I only mention this because there is a new batch being released this Nov.Would be a great addition and interesting piece for many years.Excellent job by the way, that Lorier is one of my fav Chronos.👍🏻🍀
I don’t see many occasions where a High School student would need a dress watch. I‘d rather ho with a everyday watch you can wear for almost any occasion.
Take a look at Tissot Gentleman. A highly versatile watch. Also check out the Seiko Presage Sharp edged series. They are unmatched in finish at this price range. I would also suggest checking them out in a store. No photo is able to replicate their quality.
I got into watches 6 months ago and have slowly been building up a collection since.
I can tell you have a good head on your shoulders already compared to others of your age, but I say with respect that 4 in 6 months is not slow by any means. No one can tell you exactly how to live your life but once you hit that range of 5-6 watches, you’ll be surprised how little wrist time some get compared to the others (if any, in some cases). I recommend to give yourself more time with these 4 before your next watch purchase — like a very comfortable amount of time.
Spacing your purchases out also has the effect of each being a bit more special. Seriously, enjoy just these for a bit. They’re very nice and you may also learn more about what you like/want and don’t/like want by how you wear some of these, which could valuably inform the choice of the next watch you buy.
Some diver would fit perfectly.
Get a thick ass diver !
I'd suggest saving up for a $5,000+ watch next. The $2,000-$4,500 range is kind of meh. There are some nice options with Longines, Oris, Tudor, Rado, and Ball but personally I'd rather hold out for a big boy like a Omega, zenith, Breitling, Rolex, Grand Seiko, etc.
Mponswatch
Get a Roth IRA. When you retire that $1000 will be worth $100,000 and you can buy something really nice. :)
With inflation in 45 years, for 100,000 I’ll be able to get a used Tudor if im lucky! I’m jk that’s a good idea
Historically, the market outpaces inflation by a significant margin.
I agree I was joking
Yup, you have a Hamilton, all covered…
Classy taste my friend

If you're looking for a good diver, Citizen makes some nice ones that are reliable without breaking the bank. They were my first sort of "nice" brand of watches that I got into when I was your age.
G-SHOCK!
Wait. You may feel like you have a lot of money now because of low/ nonexistent expenses living at home, but once you start paying 3K a month just to live (rent, car payments, gas, utilities, and groceries add up fast for a single person), you'll be wishing you had a little more financial padding so you can feel comfortable buying something nice once and a while without spending all your savings. That Hamilton is a great watch. If you get another watch anytime soon, see if you can get it for a HS graduation gift so you don't blow your savings.
Save up your money and buy a house.
G-Shock 5610 or one of the Casioak series. Every man should own at least one G-Shock.
Ik it’s more durable but are there any other upsides over the a158 I have?
They aren't really comparable since they're completely two different type of watches. You can drive over a G-Shock with a tank where as a158 is more of an office watch.
Marathon Navigator is one of my favorite ED watches. Can’t go wrong, very simple and reliable and has some great history behind the company.
Stop spending money on watches and invest in mutual funds. Your 50 year old self will thank me
Shit, in HS I was more focused on having a steady supplier who would buy me booze lol
Hahaha
Spend more on girls, cars and chicks chief you got your whole adult life to collect watches ! Enjoy the little money you got now
First of all, congrats on what you have so far, cool stuff. Secondly, I recommend going into watch repair shops/mom and pop jewelry stores and hunting for an interesting and unique vintage piece. It can be overwhelming to look for vintage watches online if you don’t have something specific in mind. In person you can sometimes find something really incredible for a reasonable price.
Thank you! I will check that out I appreciate it
