Is it worth it to replace a battery in a LaCoste watch? It was a gift some time ago and has since kicked the bucket. If I remember correct it was about $225 retail

If it’s not worth it, what is a good option in that price range? I’m not a flashy person so recs on a understated or minimalist design is preferable.

What kind of question is that? "My car has run out of gas, but it's a 2004 Honda Civic. Do I scrap it or is it worthy of another trip to the gas station?"

Who pissed in your Cheerios?

I know little to nothing about watches, it was just a question.

Yeah, you're right, sorry. That wording was a bit off. But an empty battery is not "kicking the bucket", it's just regular (and cheap) maintenance.

So, as others have said, if you plan to wear it at all or if you plan on selling it, you should have that battery changed.

Changing a battery is a $2 part and maybe five minutes of work.

It’s a battery, even if you took it to a shop it’s like $15. Yes, it’s worth it
