Picked up this Seiko “Tank” Swro54p1

Does it look like s**t, or can I pull it off?

Tbh Looks awesome of course the look is unique but I love it and it suits your wrist fine

I tend to think small watches are unbecoming of a man. But I also think large and overly-adorned watches are unbecoming of an adult. It mostly will depend on how the watch rides your silhouette when you look in the mirror. Everyone will have their opinions.

You didn’t mess up at all. This will be a beautiful heirloom to hand down to your daughter.

Yes, but it's fixable. Just admit to your Mom that you stole her watch, and return it to her. I'm sure she'll forgive you.

[–] Materva@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I love this watch, but would want the solar version.

[–] ConsumingFire1689@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (5 children)

It's small by today's standards, but men have worn small watches pretty consistently throughout history, so who cares?

To be honest, it looks great. Especially paired with a suit, I'd guess.

But then again, that's my opinion and even if I thought it were hideous, you could still find it amazing and enjoy your new watch.

I appreciate your opinion… thanks.

[–] foulmentalraquet@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

It's smallish, but if you like it then whatever who cares what ppl think.

[–] Ambassador_Seamonkey@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I care.! I’m terribly insecure…

[–] foulmentalraquet@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

K , go get a larger watch and compare if much better sell this one or gift it

[–] Ambassador_Seamonkey@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)
[–] foulmentalraquet@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah in my opinion way better

[–] grneal@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Do you like it? That’s the only opinion that matters.

Maybe it’s the watch, but you seem to have pretty big wrists? Tried it with a suit? It could become your “suit watch”.

[–] Born-Campaign-1225@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Good for a tux but yeah, a bit small otherwise.

never. this "rule" nowadays that men's watches have to be big doesn't make any sense and is stupid, until the mid-70s men's watches were smaller and everyone looked good wearing one. beautiful watch you have.

Thanks 🙏😊

At first glance, looks like a ladies watch on your big wrist.

It is, indeed, a lady’s watch.

[–] 70hnarty@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If possible, you should keep it a little loose, exactly like Mo Ali in that pic.. wear it like a bracelet :)

[–] fb95dd7063@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

dress watches should be small

[–] Kind_Battle_2362@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

If you're wondering then you probably know deep down in your soul

[–] Ambassador_Seamonkey@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

I happen to be born without a soul,, so unfortunately no

[–] Kind_Battle_2362@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Then you can definitely rock it man! Welcome to the club also haha

Even with modern trends, square/rectangular watches have remained small and elegant compared with size changes in dive/dress watches. I personally like the style of a smaller rectangular watch.

[–] EBXLBRVEKJVEOJHARTB@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Nope, size is perfect for that style

Classy! Also it’s not too small at all.

[–] sexualdeskfan@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Yeh dress watches aren’t supposed to be huge and I actually like smaller watches but this looks like you have raided your mums jewellery box. Sorry.

The sizing of these watches doesn’t really make sense to me, the most popular Cartier tank is like 34x25mm but these only come in a 39mm which is way too big for this style watch and a 31mm which is too small for an average man’s wrist.

Are you saying I raided my mothers box..! Wtf is wrong with you.

I totally agree about the sizes though.

[–] enzo32ferrari@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Did you get that off the eBay auction? I saw the same piece and was thinking of bidding on it

Ordered online but not from a shop

[–] StevenS145@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

As long as you’re confident in it, you got a clean, classy looking watch.

I have one of my grandfather’s old dress watches, rectangular but wears like a 32mm watch and I love it.

[–] -LightOnTheLand@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Way too small imo but if you like it, wear it

[–] adr1418@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I just bought a 1940 Bulova American Eagle. it's 3/4" x 1 3/8". Tiny by today's standards but I think it looks awesome on my 7.25" wrist.

You go with what you enjoy and forget everyone else!

[–] Askymojo@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

That will look good with a long sleeve button-up shirt. That style watch is just too dressy for short sleeves no matter the size really.

Small watches are for everyone.

It's only when kid strap a 45mm to their wrist looking like little boys where their dads shoes and suit jacket that the problem occurs.

[–] Roberto_Chiraz@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Super slick chief

[–] hopelessbrows@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I may be biased since I love smaller watches (on me, the tinier the better) and it looks great!

[–] alwaysbeclosin9@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Why Are you wearing a ladies Watch?
