Impressive that our trophy record is still remembered considering we won them all during the Bronze Age!

4 of the top 8 in the north west, including 1st, 2nd, and two in joint 4th for league titles cos we're sick up here

I'm counting 1 extra trophy for most of these on wikipedia. Not sure if I've missed a thing that a lot of teams have won only 1 of that doesn't count as a major trophy. I was assuming you were removing super cups from this chart

[–] Cinn4monSynonym@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (3 children)

I didn't include single-match super cups (the Charity/Community Shield, the European/UEFA Super Cup and the old Intercontinental Cup) but I did include the FIFA Club World Cup as teams need to win more than one game to be champions. I also didn't include the old Intertoto Cup.

[–] Reach_Reclaimer@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah single games would count as minor trophies so I think your process is correct

Swindon Town has an Anglo-Italian Cup... More International titles than Wednesday

Did the midlands really need more than one section

[–] LazarusChild@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Yes? West and East Midlands are almost always divided and are quite different

[–] JJOne101@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Swansea would be the club for Wales, no? 3 League Cups.

[–] _cumblast_@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

I wouldn't count the CWC as a major honour tbh. We're still top without it, but yeah.

This is pretty cursed, I like it

Now make one for “Most successful club in each region of England based on most recent European title won”

[–] PlasticCupz@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Then make one for “Most club goals scored for each region of England based on who scored the most recent goal”

[–] qwertygasm@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Just do the most recent major trophy thanks

[–] christmasinjune201@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

How can Arsenal be the most successful club in London when Chelsea has two champions league trophies? The prestige of each trophy should be taken into account.

[–] iforgotmyun@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Arsenal have more than double the league titles Chelsea has for starters...

[–] Used-Produce-3491@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Fuck da money, a real club that’s why

[–] MOT1919ALAW@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Sheffield Wednesday 😂😂😂

[–] BoxOfNothing@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (3 children)

Not far behind Newcastle to be fair, and won a proper trophy much more recently

Never realised how far into the North West the East Midlands extend

Can we at least have the Peak District?

[–] sleepytoday@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Derbyshire borders Greater Manchester.

[–] qwerty_1965@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Fun graphic but I feel these work better with "trophy weighting"

EC/CL 3 points

League title 3 points

UEFA Cup/EL 2 points

All other cups 1 point

[–] BipartizanBelgrade@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

A European Cup is worth a hell of a lot more than a league title.

[–] themanebeat@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Doesn't matter much we finish top any way

I love that the Ipswich badge features a horse doing a cheeky stepover.

[–] Cinn4monSynonym@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (2 children)

Unfortunately, the Suffolk Punch breed is categorised as critically endangered by the UK's Rare Breeds Survival Trust, although their numbers do appear to be increasing gradually. It's been featured on the ITFC badge since 1972, and in its current form since 1995.

Now that's a proper reason to support a football club.

I really didn’t like the one where counties were shaded in the colour of the highest finishing team in each. This is much better.

[–] rob3rtisgod@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Wednesday died for this :(

Thought I see our beloved scunthorpe United

This is beautiful!!

Uthred Uthredson would be a Liverpool fan, judging from that map?

[–] BoukeMarten@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Manchester is red🔴 Wonder how City fans can come back from that

[–] SpaceboyMcGhee@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Ah yes, the traditional Big 9.

[–] CCullen95@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Not sure if there was anyone out there that needed reminding that we're fucking massive.

[–] Something_To_Do_437@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Kerry Mucklowe screaming, cheering, crying right now. Swindon are massive.
