Well, "Dame will never leave" isn't sitting well right now.
NBA - Main
Game analysis, highlights and everything else that is happening in the NBA.
Yeah mine is basically the same as OP. I thought Australia were finally about to have a legit global superstar in an American major league in Simmons, and that he would basically be Aussie Lebron.
Jalen Brunon got overpaid by the Knicks front office. His stats were massively inflated by playing with Luka and that he was gonna be the next marbury.
I'm a dumb ass lol
I thought the Ty Lawson nuggets would end up with a chip
I was genuinely convinced the Kyrie Irving-Gordon Hayward Celtics were going to win the championship.
It's not 100% done, but about 99.9999% of the way there.
I thought Luka was great enough to lead Dallas to a title.
Then the Dallas front office just kept making worse decisions. Topped off with trading for AND RE-SIGNING World B. Flat.
If Doncic is still a Mav at this time next year, I will be very surprised.
"Mitchell & Gobert will lead the Jazz to a championship :-)"
I thought Christian Wood was going to turn out a lot better than he has.
I bring it up every time a thread pops up.
Thought Anthony Randolph was the future KG
To my credit I said the same about Lamarcus Aldridge
I thought for sure Ramon Sessions would be the Laker's future PG. The Lakers didn’t even decide to try him for a complete season.
For Kobe’s last three years, I believed he would turn it around and look like himself. I played myself for three straight seasons, realizing that Kobe wasn’t going to get back to Pre-Achilles Kobe.
Lebron won’t be able to do this on the NBA level. He’s going against 6’3” white boys.
Kawhi was lazy and Toronto got robbed in that trade.
Marvin bagley was gonna be hall of famer
Coming out of college, I said There’s nothing special about Tim Duncan. Will be a career 15-10 guy.
I thought Carmelo was better than Bron for like 2 years in my youth around 2004
In the 2015 draft, I wanted Phoenix to get a promising big. I had my eyes on Willie Cauley-Stein. When I got snapped up at #6, I thought “that’s okay. Myles Turner is still available.” And then when he got taken at #11, I just crossed my fingers that Utah wouldn’t take my last bit of hope away by drafting Trey Lyles at #12. Watching that happen, and seeing Phoenix settle for a Shooting Guard who wasn’t even a starter in college, I don’t think I even kept watching the rest of the draft after that. I was so disappointed to have Devin Booker.
Fast forward to now, and Suns fans are debating if Booker will eventually retire as the greatest Sun ever (and spoiler: it’s a resounding yes).
Bol Bol would prove the world why he should have been a lottery pick.
Totally thought when Giannis signed his extension 3 years ago he’d never get to the finals or win a ring, and the guy won in year 1 of it
I really thought Nerlens Noel will become a defensive player of the year.
When Luke Walton was in college I said he was a really smart player in a way that was going to make him a really great coach. I was riding high on that claim for a while when he stepped in for Kerr but it turned out to be a really bad take.
Nash, Kobe, Howard Lakers would win a ring. Big fan of Nash and I really thought he was about to get one.
Jordan Bell was supposed to be the next Draymond
I thought after losing that game 83 to the TWOLVES it was time to move on from Malone. I've never been more glad to be an ignorant voiceless moron
I thought lebron was gonna go to Philly when he left cavs in 2018
Jimmy butler isn’t a number one option, we should trade him for a young guy and picks. (Bulls fan)
Simmons/Embiid being historically great together was the correct take to have 5 years ago. Ben Simmons not being disgustingly good and a lineup of those 2 and 3 shooters not being completely unstoppable is bizarre and wouldn’t have happened in 99/100 do overs.
this isn’t horrible but i wanted the lakers to trade kuz and a pick for derrick rose so bad in 2020 LMAO
giving up that switchability for a pg who isn’t that great of a defender yea no
After they got Holiday, I said the Bucks gave away all their depth to become a team that wasn’t any better overall than they were before.
I thought Thomas Robinson was gonna be the perfect modern big.
I was really unsure about the Nuggets trading for Aaron Gordon.
MarShon Brooks is a future HoF.
I said Markele Fultz had potential to be a top 3 all time pg. his game just looked so smooth and in control before the draft, even without the injuries in hindsight I don’t think he would’ve gotten there. Without injuries I think fringe all star. He isn’t as athletic as he appeared to be.
Out of college, I thought Víctor Oladipo was going to be an all time great
That Quincy Miller was going to be a major talent.
I thought Luka would bust.
I have been a fan of basketball for a long time. Have had many bad takes.
Here are some bad takes. I would like to state that I have also had extremely good takes as well.
Notable bad takes. I was definitely in favor of keeping Curry over Ellis but I did say that Warriors should at least consider a Deron Williams for Curry trade.
I thought the Klay pick wasn't great, I thought the Warriors should have picked Alec Burks. I thought the Kings drafting Nic Stauskas was a good pick as well as Thomas Robinson. Although I did at the time think Lillard was a better pick I thought Thomas Robinson was also a steal at number 5. I thought Willie Cauley-Stein was also a good pick to pair next to Cousins.
Year after year during the Spurs glory years with Duncan I predicted their demise due to them aging. They won like two championships after I started saying this.
More recently I took the hot take that the Gobert trade was good for Minnesota. I also thought Anthony Edwards was a bad choice at no. 1. But then I used the existence of Edwards as being so good that trading draft picks doesn't matter for Minnesota.
That the Kings should trade D'Aaron Fox for Ben Simmons...terrible take. Sorry Kings fans. I think my Kings takes have been the worst.
Out of the 3 Ball brothers, I thought LiAngelo’s game/shooting would translate best to the NBA and he’d find the most success out of all 3. Welp…
