Google and Apple have different versions of maps depending on what your country recognizes.
For example, it will shows territories claimed by China as part of China for Chinese IP addresses, but may show them as independent territories for other countries that recognize them as such.

I noticed that the send button was grayed out if you tried to report an incorrect name.
I just sent one in to Google Maps. Clearly it must be a bug. No such place exists
You can leave a review for 'gulf of Mexico (gulf of America)' in Google maps too. Let's do a review bomb
The newest review listed is from a month ago and does not include my own 1 star review from the other day, so I'm guessing they're hiding them lol.
