The NBA, time and time again, has proven to f*ck over women and children. Too many horrible men in the NBA have been domestic abuser, child abusers, s*xual harassers, etc.

Josh Primo FLASHED HIMSELF to the Spurs team psychologist, who is a WOMAN. She reported the incident, got ignored, then file a civil complaint against the team, and only after the threat of legal action did the Spurs waive Josh Primo.

The LA CLippers then decided the SIGN Josh Primo for this season, and thought it was a good idea to WARN Clippers FEMALE EMPLOYEES that they are hiring a man who s*xually harasses women.

Miles Bridges with 2 arrest charges. Domestically abuses his girlfriend, where their TODDLER son is a witness, telling him to stop. Then the hornets sign him the next season and allow him to make generational wealth. Had Bridges been a 9-5er, making <50k a year, his ass would've been serving the full 10 years.

Don't even get me started on Karl Malone. Jaxon Hayes, Kevin Porter Jr., Darren Collinson, Matt Barnes, Jason Kidd and so many more who use their size and strength against those they know can't fight back.

Two common arguments I hear from these accusations:

  1. The women are lying
  2. The women started the fight

1.) Why do you think the women are always lying? Let's assume one is. Okay. Then that means we do not believe anyone else? I understand that these are men with millions of dollars coming in every year, so lying against them seems like a sure fire way to make money. However, they are also extreme athletes, with above average size, strength and TESTOSTERONE. Testosterone levels are a key aspect in violence. Of course, we should look at all the facts before making a decision, but assuming every woman is lying is such a disturbing thing NBA fans do. Have some empathy, especially when there is demanding evidence.

2.) Understand how self-defense works. If a 5'6 women is arguing with a 6'6 man, and she hits him, maybe slaps him, repeatedly, the man has every right to defend himself in this situation. Push her away/down is very reasonable. But beating her to a pulp is not self defense. If the man walks out of the situation without a scratch and the women has to go to the hospital to treat her injuries, that is not self-defense.

I just wanted to vent and say that the NBA has become very unwatchable, knowing that they allow criminal men to continue generating such great wealth. We all know this would not be the case for any of us middle-class workers...

TLDR; the NBA allows dangerous, criminal men to continue making such great wealth, and it should not be condoned

Then don't watch, pussy. God damn I'm so sick of online virtue signalers. Maybe if we give him what he wants he'll go away:

Bro, you're so right. And more than that, you're a good person. You're really tuned into these important issues and the world is a better place because you're in it. Congrats on the virtue.

Sorry but this is not just for the nba, it's every huge organisation even this platform your using has the same mindset of "business first" any of the huge organisation would gladly ignore your personnel life to keep talent. They don't care

Unfortunately bro, this isn’t just the NBA…. It’s every professional sports league and every aspect of the entertainment industry (actors, musicians, etc.). If you were to boycott every industry that has supported any gross misconduct, then your entertainment would be staring at a brick wall, and even then chances are someone involved in the making of that brick wall has also been an abuser in some way or another.

Although it’s not right, it’s the world we are in.

These leagues consider these things but ultimate goal is to compile talent. It also depends on the team since some teams like the Heat and Nuggets have good cultures and won’t sign such guys (looking at you charlotte).

You would despise the NFL.

I don't know if this will sound heartless but when it comes to athletes and wrestlers, I don't care what they do outside of the sport.

If someone gets a dui, I don't care. If someone gets in a fight, I don't care. If someone is selling a portable grill you can use anywhere and drains grease off the side while conveniently maintaining a easy to clean cooking surface, I don't care.

I got an idea. How about instead of ranting to strangers you go and do something about it? I believe in you.. go make a difference! Or… do you feel like you did your part by typing up an essay for strangers to read?

As a woman who follows teams and players on social media, I see the majority of these men being decent. Some are even amazing husbands and fathers. To tar an entire organization over a small amount of players who have had despicable behaviour is wild. If you feel that strongly about it, perhaps reach out to Adam Silver, someone who has power. Not a subreddit, otherwise is comes off as pompous bullshit.

Yeh there is money on the line. Not super hard to understand. And not disturbing either. The NBA would rather make money or not remove assets vs have good morals. Super simple stuff. Just don't watch or support, obviously fans do not care.

The shoes/clothes you wear or anything that you use in your daily life probably has a dark side to it, or a dark history. Are you gonna boycott everything? players are there to play, not to be role models. You have the option of not supporting them.

WATCH THE CEBL THEN ,HOSER

[–] 75DubFan@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Roughly 3-5% of the population commits crimes. Take 5% of the NBA and that’s about 22-23 guys.

[–] inshamblesx@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

then don't watch?

[–] sheepish132@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

If you actually really care about this, don't post about this stuff on reddit, it's going to do fuck all for actually making changes happen. Nobody in this subreddit is thinking, "Hmmm, I never thought about it that way before," or, "Oh my god, you mean some NBA players have done horrible things?" We know it, but the NBA is an escape from other fucked up things happening in our lives, and we're picking our battles. You have to go to someone who actually has some control. Send something to the NBA corporate offices or your team owner or GM. Someone who actually has some control over the situation.

Also, don't "thoughts and prayers" this shit where you type up a few paragraphs on reddit and then fuck off. Be all about it, because otherwise it's just some virtue signalling bullshit.

Go Cavs

Just finished watching Old Dads. Instead of tearing into this nonsense. Just gonna say good luck in the playoffs!

[–] KellerFF@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

There is no justification for what I’m about to say

But

The NFL is over there…

But FRFR it’s a systemic issue across all major sports.

Most major leagues do a decent job of informing draft classes/rookies of the potential pitfalls to the life style changes but I seriously doubt there’s any outreach or follow up type programs to truly help support change.

Or programs that identify potential problematic athletes initially to get them help/guidance before they do the dumb shit.

[–] Ace_FGC@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

We don’t care
