Len Bias
What if Len Bias didn't die
What if Lebron flashed his dick on air before EVERY game?
What if Kobe went to the pistons
What if Tim Duncan went to orlando
If Kelly Olynyk didn’t intentionally injure Kevin Love in 2015
Very specific one for me, but what if Isiah’s nuclear 3rd quarter in game 6 is enough to get the pistons their first ring in 88 as opposed to 89? Do they trade for Aguirre? Do they end up with three rings instead of two and a finals appearance?
Malice at the Palace.....
What if bill walton didn’t have an injury early in his career
prime Pippen vs. prime LeBron. No Jordan but equal-ish teams. Would be a BATTLE.
also: '94 Sonics stay together and we get at least 5 more years of Payton and prime Kemp.
DRose stays healthy
What if Ewing didn’t miss that layup
What if the Knicks gave Riley what he wanted? Sigh
What if toronto had formed a team with chauncy Billups Tracy McGrady and Vince Carter..
What if Javale and Swaggy P were drafted by a competent organization?
What if Mugsy Bogues was 5'9"
What if D-Wade entered his career 100% healthy? He really might be right behind Kobe in rankings
What if...
The refs never cheat the Kings in the WCF against the Lakers
This isn’t as big of a butterfly affect as some of the others but Bill Simmons poisoned me with the “What If?” of the Cavs drafting Iguodala (if he had fallen one more pick) to pair with Lebron instead of Luke Jackson. This is 2004, way before Lebron gets sick of being in Cleveland and also gives Iggy the chance to fall into the perfect position as a #2.
They probably still lose in 2007 without better FA signings and draft picks. But this at least allows the Cavs front office to not make desperation trades every offseason and just seek out shooters and role players. Plus, imagine how fantastic their defense would have been against the Celtics big 3, all the shooters on the Magic, and the Pistons perimeters guys.
In this scenario Lebron probably wins one or at least regularly gets close to winning a championship and maybe doesn’t go to Miami. But who knows? Maybe Lebron still falls in love with the idea of playing with Melo and Wade in the Olympics and ditches Iggy after one or two disappointing playoff losses?
What if Pat bev didn’t take out Russ’s knees decimating his athleticism in 2014
Russ was an iron man his whole career (even now) but that event took away a noticeable amount of athleticism.
He still won an mvp after that and did great things but if he still was more springy I think they beat the warriors that year and the Cavs and that KD never leaves
What if Ron Artest never laid down on the scorers table in detroit and the fan never though his beer (malice in the palice never happened)? Pacers fan here..Pacers had a chance that year…
I feel like the only correct answer is Len Bias. I can at least make educated guesses about what happens in some hypothetical scenarios, but a matter of life or death before playing a single game makes it an insurmountable hypothetical
Derrick Rose doesn’t get injured only to leave the game slip in the shower and develops the exact same injury just a few hours later
What if the wolves drafted Curry? Landscape of the league could be entirely different.
Grant Hill never getting hurt as often as he did.
Man I wish he never played on that bad foot
