The entire blazers history is what if.
But I kinda wanna know if Len Bias was him or not.
Game analysis, highlights and everything else that is happening in the NBA.
The entire blazers history is what if.
But I kinda wanna know if Len Bias was him or not.
I have a very common take but what if D.Rose never got injured? What would his ceiling have been?
What if the Pistons drafted Carmelo Anthony instead of Darko? I think surely they win at least one more championship, and Melo gets his ring.
A strong defensive lineup that can hide his deficiencies while still having playmaking and shot creation, I can see it
Considering they took the Spurs to 7 in the Finals the very next year and then made the ECF for three straight years after that, Melo on the Pistons could have been the start of a dynasty.
i feel like wade or both fits in really well, especially since they are very elite off ball defenders and great scoring threats
What if Bron was drafted to a legit organization? Could he have won a chip early in his career with a competent FO building a team around him? How many? Would the Heatles still happen? Etc.
A nice what if would be what if Miami and Cleveland switched draft positions. How would Wade excel in a poorly ran organization, would the heat win a championship even quicker with Lebron?
Here’s an interesting what if.
What if the Cavs drafted Darko 1st overall. And LeBron goes 2nd to the Pistons.
Mind you the Pistons made the ECF from 2003-2008.
What if the suns had KG instead of Stat
I didn’t know this is an option but maybe not much different. They were both pretty great with KG winning out on longevity and he would have left sooner or later because of Sarver’s cheapness.
What if Jordan never got bored and retired/was shadow suspended (if you believe the conspiracy theories). Would the Bulls have won 8 straight? 6? How would Hakeem's career been perceived if they couldn't beat the Bulls instead of getting Ewing and a not yet ready to win Shaq?
Jordan didn't get bored. Jordan was mentally fried by the summer olympics in 1992 and had already made up his mind that the 92-93 season would be his last. His dad's tragic murder made it that much easier for him to step away.
I am confident if he would’ve played 1984-2003 with no breaks, they would’ve won 9 straight in the ‘90s and the LeBron longevity argument wouldn’t be as impactful. He averaged 20/6/4 in 82 games in his last season at 40. Now imagine those numbers if he hadn’t taken those seasons off in between the Bulls and Wiz and stayed in better shape up until that point.
And he would have gone for 10 with the whole world believing he would get it.
The "shadow suspended" theory honestly makes no sense when you think about it. Stern was doing everything he could to grow the NBA, and MJ was huge in making the sport global. Why suspend him for something that wasn't out in the open?
MJ's father was murdered, and his dream was for MJ to play pro baseball. MJ, who was burnt out after a three-peat and Olympic run, retired afterward to play his father's favorite sport.
I think an interesting spin off of that is what if MJ came back, lost in the Finals both years, and the rest of his career turned out exactly the same? How would we view MJ differently? Probably not a likely scenario, but a lot of MJ’s mystic comes from the fact that he never lost in the Finals. And what about if he wins one and loses the other?
How would Kawhi’s career have turned out if he didn’t get injured by Zaza and the following injuries since.
Fuck Zaza.
Fuuuuuck Zaza. I think I can finally get over this now though. Praise be to Wemby
What if Chris Paul didn’t get hurt in Game 5 of the WCF. Harden and CP3 could go on to win a ring and their legacies looks completely different.
Penny Hardaway 💯
If shaq stays on the magic with penny, is penny what kobe became?
Cp basketball ball reason trade go through, or what if anyone could convince Lakers Shaq to aim for the GOAT spot but u/WinesburgOhio has the best take so far.
What happens if Arvydas Sabonis comes to the NBA in the 80s and stays healthy?
What does that do for the championship success--and the legacies--of the late 80s Celtics and Lakers, Bad Boys Pistons, and Jordan Bulls?
What happens if Tim Donaghy never fixed any playoff games? Would the Kings have a championship banner? What other teams would be affected by this?
Tim Donaghy officiated Kings playoff games? I though that was Dick Bavetta…
Mine is more selfish: what if Kwahi’s shot takes three bounces instead of four and the Sixers make it to the ECF? If we assume the same outcome for Golden State - everyone gets hurt and they have no chance - there’s a really good chance the entire narrative around Embiid and the Sixers is totally different. It’s incredible how much that bounce impacted.
Probably what happens if Yao Ming never got injured. I know Tracy is a more popular what if but I just find Yao a more interesting prospect considering we never really got to see this prime like we probably did with Tracy.
Biggest of the modern NBA is what if OKC doesn't trade Harden. Everything we know about the league would change
1984 trade between the Rockets and Trailblazers for Clyde and the #2 pick for Sampson. Hakeem, MJ, Drexler.
End thread.
Curry doesn’t get injured in the 2016 playoffs so doesn’t have the worst playoff run of his prime, the Warriors win the title and he snags the best player in the league title. KD probably doesn’t come and we get to see epic even duels between a stacked OKC team, Warriors team, Spurs and the Cavs with Curry Durant Lebron and Kawhi all are their best
Kevin Love and Kyrie healthy for 2015 finals
D Rose and Penny are the two obvious ones. Another one I’ve always considered was if the Cavs didn’t take Bron for granted and traded JJ Hickson away for STAT
I wanna see what healthy Grant Hill and Tmac could accomplish in Orlando.
And I want to see if the 2018 Rockets win the series if CP3 never goes down.
This
What if Charles smith had made the dunk and Ewing had made the finger-roll…
Where would Bernard King rate if he didn't get injured?
Youngsters read up on him. Underrated and would have been in top 20 discussion if he played 20 years later.
What if Love, Westbrook stick around UCLA for another 1-2 years and join Holiday. Banner?
This is actually a interesting what if
What if the Cavs drafted Darko in 2003 and LeBron gets drafted by the Pistons.
Obviously there would be massive civil unrest in Cleveland and Darko would’ve been a bust regardless.
Meanwhile LeBron joins a team that just made the ECF with some great veterans. Now granted Larry Brown won’t start him rightaway which would affect his counting stats but he starts winning rings very early in his career. And I do believe the Pistons still trade for Rasheed.
BSOLZ a YouTuber made a video on something like this.
Larry Bird hires someone to pave the driveway… 😞
