Taylor Swift, music is way more popular than basketball and she is probably the most popular musician currently.
Taylor, sports is more niche than fans think.
Most people outside of basketball don’t really care about LeBron. Yes, he is the #1 most famous basketball athlete, but basketball isn’t even the most popular global sport. Swift by the nature of her craft will hit a wider variety of audiences and be much more popular.

The Lakers subreddit has 553k members, the Taylor Swift one has over 1 mil. Swift also has more than 100 mil more Instagram followers than lebron. That obviously doesn't prove it but there's no chance an American sports team or athlete is big enough. Messi and Ronaldo and real madrid and barcelona probably compare.
