It seems like a decent amount of players who played for the Grizzlies and left, soon became NBA champions.

Most notably the Gasol brothers. Jason Williams, Shane Battier, Avery Bradley, Austin Daye, Marreese Speights & Mike Miller (kinda) all got rings in a short time after. James Posey had a short stent and soon became a champion x2. I wouldn’t necessarily count Kyle Lowry since there was quite a large gap.

Mike Conley & Rudy Gay are two of the best who didn’t follow this trend. ZBo came a little later in his career and didn’t make it either.

Is this just because I am more aware of the Grizzly roster year after year and these connections are more common? Or could the Grizzlies be good luck?

in a similar vein the Knicks have had a former player in the last 77 finals series

Hornets/Bobcats have Tyson Chandler, Dwight Howard, Adam Morrison, Shannon Brown, Boris Diaw, Glen Rice, Ish Smith, and I'm sure several others winning rings within two years of leaving Charlotte.

Most teams probably do. There are a lot of champions out there.

Hornets had Kobe too

I'd guess you could do this with just about any team, especially considering how far back you're pulling some of these names.

If Tyus wins a ring with the Wizards this season then I'll say you're on to something.

Watch out for the rockets!

I'd have to dig to find all of them but felt like the Nuggets were feeding champs for a while. I remember Birdman playing with the Heatles and of course Iggy was a Nugget before he joined GSW.

Not the same but it was pretty funny that AD got traded from New Orleans and won a ring the very next year and then the following year Jrue got traded from the Pels and also immediately won a ring

Jazz curse confirmed stronger than the post-Grizz buff

With the exception of maybe a Mo Speights, who went to GS when they weren’t a powerhouse yet, all these guys went to contending teams, or at least teams that routinely made the playoffs

Not to rub salt to the wound, but Iggy in spite of not playing for the grizz, was still on your roster and won his 4th ring immediately the next season lmao

The Cavs had LeBron James and LeBron James. I'm sure there's others but those guys stand out.
