Not to say that he isn’t a great playmaker, but just because he averages 10 assists and makes some unnecessarily fancy passes from time to time does not at all justify him as having one of the highest offensive peaks ever.

10apg is good but nothing crazy especially when he’s the primary playmaker of the team to begin with. There are plenty of PGs in the league who can do that.

He also averaged 4 turnovers per game last season which is pretty sloppy but everyone seems to ignore this.

Watch him play. A whole season. You'll see he's a conductor on the court. He points at where people should be and go to make the perfect pass. Positions his teammates for the open cuts and oops as well.

Really, watch his past few seasons.. He's a fucking basketball genius.

I don't think Jokic's passing has ever been about 'flash', not ever a little bit. It's about manipulating the defense so that if the pass is completed it generates an easy bucket for his teammates.

Except Jokic is doing that as a center

Turnovers are just part of the game for playmakers. That’s why Lebron is the all time turnover leader. Westbrook is #3 and the assists leader John Stockton is #5.

Seeing as you have people arguing he’s in the conversation for best passer ever I’d have to go with yes. He’s good but not on that level.

Jokic can thread the needle, but what makes him special is his ability to anticipate cuts, process how the defense reacts, and then throw a dime all in a split second. He also controls the tempo of the offense masterfully, a true maestro on offense akin to the #10 on a soccer field.
