I agree with you completely. That would be in the entire spirit of these City jerseys to begin with. But, alas, as u/FreddyAllstar mentioned, it's not a bang for your buck choice and $$$ drives all.
NBA - Main
Game analysis, highlights and everything else that is happening in the NBA.
I know you said “filter out the unserious ones” but when I hear “internet contest” I just figure that it would become a competition to sneak in the most hidden dicks or when you look at the jersey upside down it reads “SEND NUDES” or like some hidden silhouette of chungus.
I just want to get away from mandatory new jerseys every year.
I just want to get away from mandatory new jerseys every year
As someone who grew up on soccer (where at least three new jerseys every year has become the norm, and there’s a lot of misfires every year), I actually like the idea of just changing one special edition jersey every year and keeping the classics as the main jerseys.
But abominations such as our (Bulls) jersey and the Heat’s jersey can’t happen.
I like the idea of fans playing a role in the overall process, but instead of involving us in the design process, maybe involve us in the selection process? Like each summer, present 1-3 options that fans can vote for? Allow teams to present the previous design as an option in case it was a big hit?
I’d rather teams go the route the nets went and have a local artist come up with the design. Because Nike is just following the trend of minimalism and it’s infuriating. Also for some reason this years typography is extra bad..like what is up with New York’s? That shouldn’t be something that makes ppl feel it’s hard to read.
People are creating Reddit posts saying Giannis has surpassed Hakeem Olajuwon. Do we really want fans responsible for product design?
Disappointing is kind
I'm pretty sure a few redditors can produce better designs than some of the absolute crap Nike is putting out
Because Boaty McBoatFace
I thought the concept of the city jersey was to be bold and exciting. Seems to be boring this year
Cause the designers and management want to keep their jobs. They would get embarrassed by the better designs fans would come up with, minus all the joke ones ofc.
lol if you all think the city uniforms are bad, wait until you see the courts they're playing on during the tournament.
Or just have a fan vote of their favorites between all the the past city editions and then just stick with those for at least 5 years
Nike should be fired simply for not continuing the “Miami Vice” jerseys every year
Because it will still come down to people personal tastes, whether it’s public voting or someone in house deciding.
Because Nike has done it's research and the jerseys obviously sell well, or they wouldn't be putting them out year after year. The jerseys are aimed at urban arts and culture consumers. If you hate them, they're not meant for you.
