Just wondering which player would you prefer to have on your team? Both players recently got the bag, and while they play different styles, who would you prefer for their contracts?

Trae Young smokes both these dudes.

And now to something completely different...

Reaves is easily better than McDaniels.

For the contract maybe reaves bc that’s a steal of a contract. Long term I got Jaden he’s really talented and is only going to get better. Potentially that second option behind ant long term.

Two of my fave players! I'd say it depends on what the team needs and factoring in contracts but I'm leaning towards Jaden

I think reaves is on a better deal for how good he is but McDaniel is better rn.

As someone who has only heard of Jaden Mcdaniels from this subreddit I gotta go Austin Reaves

Only a laker fan could be so proud of not watching basketball

Reaves even ignoring contracts

For the Hawks I would rather Jaden but I could see situations where Austin would be preferable especially factoring in contract. For example, I think the Raptors would probably prefer Austin

I'm going Reaves, regardless of contract. Although McDaniels is a great 3+D guy, I project Reaves to be a borderline all-star.

Factoring in their contract? Probably Reaves IMO.

Reaves without hesitation and I honestly don't think it's that close.

I’ll take Reaves and extra extra cap space to go get a quality defender.

jaden easily

[–] lildeerslayer@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

You take mcdaniels no matter what imo. Top 5 perimeter defender with elite rim protection and has great efficiency with flashes of great shot creation. Main flaw is fouling guarding the best player every game.

For the contract? From the perspective of can it be traded / what is the value of that specific contract "value"...

Jaden has a PP contract because of the rookie extension. So technically speaking, there might only be one or two teams that you possibly could move him to, and make all the money/bodies work. It's about an average starter level contract, so as long as he plays up to that, the contract is fine.

Reeves has a 15% trade kicker, which adds a wrinkle, but he's on a "mid-level" contact. You can move those contracts around with more teams, because all those exemption contracts are about the same amount / within the +/- threshold. If he plays up to about a mid-level contract, that contract is fine.
