No one that’s who tom

[–] Tempest753@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Really just depends how long the game is played. If people are playing football 300 years from now there will most likely be a better QB. In the next 50 years or so though I doubt it.

He’s not wrong.

[–] ILikeGold1121@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Mahomes could but he'd have to get them early tom had a stretch halfway through his career where the well ran dry if the cheifs can stay hot it's possible but we also have to take into account kelce ain't gonna be here long term bailing him out

[–] Too_Based_@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Mahomes has until Reid retires and then he's going to be just a middle of the pack QB. Zero chance he ever comes close to matching Brady

[–] Crunc_Mcfincle@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

I don’t think either Tom Brady or LeBron James are real actual people. They’ve gotta be sports robots

[–] kiaph@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Jordan Love

[–] El_mochilero@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Mahomes is pacing to do it, but people over look four key things that few elite QBs are able to do:

  1. keep your team out of salary cap hell. Brady was never the top paid QB in the league. Hell, he was barely top 5 for most of his career.

  2. stay healthy for the most part

  3. stay sharp after 35 years old

  4. get lucky. Brady had amazing teams around him (see point #1), great coaches, and several lucky breaks along the way.

He’s not wrong.

They will eventually be someone more successful than Brady.

It’s almost a certainty.

That might not happen for a long long time. But it will

Weird to see a Torontosun article here

[–] d_gorder@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

He’s right

[–] cheeseburgerpillow@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Yeah and he only cheated a couple of times!

But seriously, why is it that the MLB fans seemingly refuse to forget the astros cheating (which I agree with), but NFL fans seem to think that cheating is fine if you’re good enough? Like how does nobody give a shit that he got caught cheating and destroying evidence??

[–] Joe30174@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

And you really need the refs to help protect your body to last that long. No, I'm just kidding. He really deserves his achievements.

Brady has 3 HOF careers in one. Insane

It’s like he forgets Vinatieri is the reason he has half those rings and those defenses the other half, not to mention he just piggybacked the Tampa team but he loves stealing credit

[–] AwayDistribution7367@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

Anyone old enough to name vinatieri and still hate is hilarious.

How could someone spend 20 years being wrong.

[–] YoDoofus@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago (1 children)

…calling me old, that’s the best comeback you could come up with lmao

Being old isn’t wrong, but spending the majority of your life on the wrong side of history?

Only way that’s possible is you’re an idiot.

I guess being old can be an insult when it comes to things like leaded gasoline but that’s just another way of calling them an idiot.

[–] PMzyox@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Even Brady knows what he did was basically never going to be able to be done again.

[–] LeftHandedScissor@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Gonna take a contrarian approach just for the sake of keeping it interesting. Doesn't this basically guarantee that it will happen?

Sure currently there are contenders all over the NFL landscape, even with parity and growing consistency across NFL teams. A QB could match Brady's accomplishments in 12 years or so if they got dropped on a contending team, grow into a great player, then take a team first approach for a large portion of their career.

Next, NFL voodoo works in funny ways. Has he made remarks similar to this previously? If not now it's in the universe anything can happen. If he's said it multiple times then he's asking for challengers.

Finally, if NFL football is still being played in a similar format many years from now. One day some kid from some tiny town(or super athlete grow laboratory) is gonna see this quote know who Brady is and spend his entire life dedicated to proving one guy wrong. Thats just sports baby.

That said, there are a number of unattainable athletic records, feats, & etc. Having a playing career arc like Brady's with all the accolades and accomplishments seems pretty close to making the list

[–] h3rald_hermes@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Mahomes is talked about, but he is already behind, and Brady owns the tie breaker. If you are a QB with Brady aspirations, you are basically toast if you don't have 3 SBs in your first 5 years. The pace is ridiculous.

It'll be tough. Mahomes might have the best chance, but they have to drastically improve that receiving corps.

[–] ab930@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

There will always be someone better

He’s right. No QB will touch his records for as long as any of us live.

I doubt anyone else will have anywhere near as many top 10 defenses in their career as he did .

We'll see after Jordan Love wins his 10th Super Bowl mvp.

[–] BaBaDoooooooook@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

PURDY!!! 😝

he's not wrong

[–] Turbulent-Smoke6009@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

When you see a scatter plot of QBs and see Tom Brady is a distant outlier from the trendline you don’t ask who can match him, you just see him for what he is, an anomaly.

[–] uh-ohlol@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Not many can afford to leave one hundred million dollars on the table for other players. If he had dictated quarterback salaries, the good ones would own the teams.

[–] okay_CPU@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

TB17 Tyson Bagent

[–] VarthStarkus@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Mahomes definitely can.

[–] GR33DYSTOCKZ@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Ok Tom 🙄

[–] cherry_monkey@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Not to burst his bubble, but it's been pointed out in the Bears sub that Tyson Bagent will out perform TB12.

TB17 = TB12 + 5

TB12 = 7 rings

TB12 + 5 = 7 rings + 5

TB17 = 12 rings.

But there's more. Both TB12 and TB17 have won home games. TB17 was born the year TB12 was drafted. TB17 entered the league the year TB12 played his last snap. Both are check down merchants playing on a stacked defense with a defensive wizard head coach. (Let's not forget Eberflus out dueled BB)

There are no coincidences, only facts.

[–] Ukulele_Maestro@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

thing about sports records is the inevitably fall eventually. There will be a new goat at some point that exceeds the old goat. its just a question of when. Might be 100 years or more, but it will happen.

[–] Thick-Exam4504@alien.top 1 points 1 year ago

Tom, go the fuck away. My God are you such an effing narcisist.
