Referees keep their standards by being the worst asset in NBA by far.
You have top 0.1% athletes competing in a league where they're being judged by (mostly) selfish, proud and incompetent judges.

They really called it S.T.E.M? Truly the science of flopping.
Leave it to the refs to use this rule to hurt defense even more
Terrible call. Definitely not a flop. Ball don't lie with the missed free throw.
Ball don’t lie
Chris Paul flipped twice in in their opener and the defender was called for a foul each time. This is gonna be a bullshit star call. Good grief
Some dudes are going to eat an unjust penalty for this new rule to truly impact the game. It should be worth it when flipping is finally reduced.
Straight up chicken wing'd by DeRozan's right arm, pro sports refs are cheeks.
People who ask for more flop calls means they're going to get ones like this wrong.
Can't have it both ways. It's how it is. Reffing is extremely hard to get right in the moment every time.
Did the NBA really try to hijack STEM to make it seem like there’s some kind of scientific method to a flop?
...I hate that this is the first flop tech I've seen. This wasn't even bad.
Refs letting us know day one that they're gonna be on some bullshit this season
That’s 100% a flop, good call refs can’t wait till it gets enforced more
The announcers and posts need to not call this "flopping". Dort is really strong, and he almost ran into the stanchion off contact above the free throw line. That is exaggerated movement.
It is a STEM call. Secondary, Theatrical and Exaggerated Movements to minimal contact.
That didn’t look like a flop to me but i know they league is just trying to get some traction with this call
The Lebron James rule lol
What makes it worse is he’s going to get fined for this
Of all the real flops we’ve suffered through and they call this? Dude just lost his footing and had too much momentum. Hope they do a better job with this rule
