Although I understand, I was dismayed to discover I misread it as "ACME" Standard Scaling Banana.

Need more information.
This is due to the Mercator map correction!
Without a banana for scale, it's hard to tell.
...those are some tiny potatoes or ginormous bananas in either case...
The bananas on the left are just closer to the camera. Everyone knows bananas are all the same size.

But what size is the metal one?
Banana sized. Or, 1.
Left banana is 1.4 standard bananas, right banana is 0.7 standard bananas.
You need a standardized banana, not some random banana.
Ah, I see the confusion. What you have there are troy bananas and avoirdupois (AVDP) bananas. Not to be confused with fluid bananas.

I have not seen one of those before, it would make a good companion tool.
As a biologist I need to know how many Banana Equivalent Doses your Scaling Banana causes.
The Scaling banana contains no Potassium-40, but it does probably have some Aluminum-26 in it. Further testing will be needed to ascertain the actual B.E.D.
Please note this is only a prototype banana. Production models will sport a trendy yellow anodized finish.
I dunno, I kind of like the industrial silver. Wouldn't want it to get mixed up with my real bananas, after all.
You should offer an assault banana with a 1913 rail, so we can attach all our tactical accessories.
That thing better be exactly 178 millimeters long, otherwise it's not a standard banana...

I did not consult that site, the ASME Scaling Banana™ measures 214mm. It was made from a composite 3d scan of 4 different bananas bought from 3 different retailers. Your banana may vary.

Just a 3 axis and a custom fixture.
Nice. Any photos of that? I like to show my students that they can hold anything, if they plan it correctly.
I thought about making that myself, but could never get the time.
I put the pic in the comment, it loaded on my side so idk whats up. But basically, I did it in 2 sides. The back side had its roughing and finishing pass done while clamping the billet. The front got its roughing pass again clamping billet. It was supposed to leave .020" thick tabs to keep it in the billet for the finishing pass but they ended up breaking off. So I used the cad drawing to cut an exact pocket of the banana in a piece of wood. The banana fit pretty snuggly into the pocket so I just used some silicone sealant I had on hand to keep it from lifting out during finishing.

...with some clever geometry, it could be sized for metric-integer weight, length, and volume...
