It has a yellow second hand.

Good find! 1970's Seiko Bullhead Chronograph. Google the 8 characters on the back, but it should be 6138-0040 or something similar.

One of my favourites. Love the bullhead.

[–] CA53W-1@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Love the very distinct chronograph hand! Hate chronographs where you barely can see the chronograph hand.

[–] Immediate_Work7320@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

Worth about $200 to $450 as is.

[–] vinyl272@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

I'd say more tbh, the bullhead ceramic bezels are usually absolutely fucked and this one is really nice.

[–] Immediate_Work7320@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

You’re right about that. I have the chance to buy the exact watch right now for $200 but the bezel is slightly more worn and the lume would need repair. So probably around 400 then.

Double that at least for this condition

[–] kaiserfrnz@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It’s a seiko

Look at this guy, posting a legible picture in an ID post. Also that's a really cool find.

[–] Marty_McFlay@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Also posting something entirely feasible to have found or gotten from a family member but have no idea what it is other than "oh that looks neat and I recognize the name."

[–] tunibrou@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Incredible watch with major historical accolades, the technology used in its chronograph was ground breaking.

Great find! Enjoy it 😜

A Lovely collectable classic Seiko. Would benefit from a service, as the two ‘bullhead’ buttons at the top should both sit at the same height. I’d also replace the scratched crystal with a new one, but stop there and DON’T have the case polished.

[–] teckel@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Funny how "stolen" is referred to as "found".

[–] SirRupert@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I’ve almost bought one of these so many times. Excellent find.

[–] OkAlfalfa3322@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

this is a good find

Looks like the date disc is German or something. The English version shows Fri. Fre makes me think it’s short for Freitag. Not sure tho, not from Germany and not sure what languages this watch originally came in.

[–] Happy_Boy_29@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (2 children)

What language is the day complication in it is not one of the usual suspects Spanish French or German ?

[–] Zanpa@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Looks like FRE for Freitag, so German

[–] Happy_Boy_29@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

... makes more sense than the FPE that I saw (y)

[–] Zanpa@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

the crystal is scratched at that exact place so that's a fair mistake!

[–] Happy_Boy_29@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Relieved, thought I might have to pay spec savers a visit !

[–] Icy-Neighborhood4714@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Yes parents live in Germany

[–] Gepard_Retardieu@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Some Seikos have bilingual day wheels so you can choose your language. I have one that has Japanese/English.

[–] Ragesome@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

This is legit my grail watch.

[–] middleofthemap@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

seiko bullhead!

[–] far_beyond_driven_@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago (1 children)

Unique watch, definitely worth getting serviced/restored with someone who knows what they're doing, which admittedly can be somewhat hard to find.

[–] man_on_a_wire@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Mark Sirianni is awesome for maintenance and repairs. He’s in PA (USA) but I’ve never had issue with shipping to or from. watchdoctor.biz

[–] AzureArmageddon@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Wow, that's really unique.

[–] brucewayne1935@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

What a cool fucking watch

[–] Equivalent-Excuse-80@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

My ‘72 seiko bulkhead is my most worn chronograph. The aesthetic is a mix between my parents old stereo and a Datsun. I love the unique case shape as it tilts toward the wearer, even though it’s a bit “bulky”.

Yours seems to be in decent condition. It’s bracelet isn’t the OEM fish bone.

[–] susanhogarth@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I really hate that I saw this post.

Now I NEED one of these

[–] Juswavs@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

someone in that house is probably looking for it and wondering when the last wore it
