These three switches control my ceiling fan and another nearby light. Left is fan lights, middle is fan blades, and right is the other light. I just want some basic on/off smart functionality for cheap on the middle switch.

Change it to your favorite smart switch brand, replace the other 2 switches with new decora switches.

Depends on the wiring behind the switches.

Maybe just a simple SwitchBot

I've thought about this. Do they have an attachment for a switch like this? I've only seen them with the more modern paddle switches.

Im not that sure because i don’t own any yet, maybe someone else can answer that question or you can look it up online

Lutron caseta for all three. Make sure to get the fan switch for fan.

I agree. Just make sure it has a neutral wire. If you don't know what that means, hire an electrician.

Yeah, wiring in old homes can be super fucky. I grew up in an old home with knob and tube wiring.

Swap it out. Pretty easy to do and should just be two wires. Turn off the power at the panel! The whole ass panel cause you ain’t an electrician

Send it to the nearest school. It'll be pretty smart after educating
