No, we've all been deceived and are mindlessly throwing our money away to support the evil overlords. π€£ These can't possibly be serious questions. How could you not know the answers to both of these questions, given the vast number of smart home products being sold and the millions of people using and posting about how they use them. Amazon Fire HD 10 Plus tablet along with table charging dock. Bought both from Amazon for only $99.
I use Home Assistant for my home automation system. I side loaded the Google Play Store and have it running with fully kiosk. Display turns on based on motion detection. Turns off after no motion for 1 minute. I use several different dashboards, just depending on what I'd like to control. Works great!
Yep, I mapped every outlet, switch and fixture then labeled everything for cross referencing at either end of a circuit. Also organized in an Excel spreadsheet in the cloud. I still use a NCV tester when working on anything though.
Your Kasa switches are not cloud dependent. The TP link Kasa integration in HA allows for local (LAN) control. I've got 29 TP-Link Kasa devices (switches) and I can confirm this is in fact, true. Also, the MyQ integration is dead as Chamberlain has removed API support for 3rd parties.
They said they wanted cheap.
