Any idea if he's referring to a turnkey "run a script" / "push a button" type solution that's not (yet) available?
If all other aspects of it are technically possible, I'd be more than willing to manually muck around in the database to move things ove and take what was learned from that and hopefully make a DB migration script.
I think that's what he meant, yeah (no existing DB migration scripts, etc). I don't know much about it, but I imagine it was probably always going to involve someone more familiar with Lemmy diving into the trenches.
Well he never elaborated. But feel free to ask him directly at https://matrix.to/#/#piefed-general:matrix.org
Where is the screenshot from?

That was actually an inside joke between someone else and I - piefed.dbon1.com lol
Isn't this not possible just for Lemmy itself? E.g. programmatically moving a community (post, comments, subs, automatic redirect etc) from one instance to another.
Tagging @rimu@piefed.social as mentions don't work in post bodies, only in comments.
Would be interesting indeed to have a database migration script or so.
Watching as I'm curious
I doubt that's possible, but everything is possible with software, so I hope someone has made a script to do so
