It was a normal night for me as I had just gotten home from school and did my usual smoke session.
Except something wasn’t so normal.
I was about to do something that I have despised my entire life in school.
I was about to read a book.
This wasn’t just any book though.
This was “Think and Grow Rich,” By Napoleon Hill.
I thought this book would be the stepping stone to my success.
As I am reading I get about half a page down and I zone out.
I catch myself zoning out so I come back to reading.
But I had forgotten what I had just read so I had to reread it.
I would make it down the page a little bit farther and my mind would wander.
I couldn’t focus for shit.
It was a struggle trying to even read a book, but I knew that is what it was going to take.
So, I set myself a goal.
I will read at least a few pages every day.
The first few days go by, and I have surprisingly stuck to my goal.
But then the next few days go by, and I completely forgot about the book.
Didn’t want to read because “that’s just not who I am.”
In all reality I didn’t even have the mental clarity to read a book.
I couldn’t sit down and focus on reading the book.
And hell, I couldn't even discipline myself to read a few pages every night.
That is why I would have never gotten rich living that Life.
Living a life controlled by weed.
Because I didn’t have these three crucial things that 99% of rich people have.
I didn’t have:
Mental Clarity
Focus
Discipline
If you want to get rich you need to have the mental clarity to do the work that needs done.
You need to be able to focus on the work that needs to get done.
And most of all you need to be able to do the hard work especially when you don’t feel like it.
I had none of those.
And people can say all they want “Don’t blame the weed, It is your fault.”
But I beg to differ.
I had all three of those things before I ever started smoking but as time went on and I was smoking I slowly lost them.
But It didn’t feel like I had lost them.
Because I felt so “normal” since I was high all the time.
No matter what you think weed is holding you back from getting rich.
It is stopping your growth and your potential.
T
hat is just three main reasons it will stop you, but I could list hundreds more.
But anyways.
I hope the person reading this takes it to heart because I definitely needed to see this even if I would have disagreed with it.
If you have quit weed, are quitting weed, or still smoking weed DM me or comment below. I would love to have a chat.
As Always,
Quit Weed. Dream Big. Get Rich.

Really? I quit drinking 5 yrs ago and became wealthier pretty quickly after that, and had picked up weed again after not having smoked much for 20 yrs (41 now).

Weed has absolutely nothing to do with being successful.. this is the reason marijuana gets a terrible rep. Stop this nonsense. Congrats that you got your shit together but dont say someone cant be successful cause of weed. Just cause you couldnt focus while smoking doesnt mean someone else cant. If i didnt smoke none my shit would get done. My employees wouldnt have work either. Weed helps me get through the day to day bullshit stress thay comes with relying on yourself and making sure my employees have money to eat. Cmon now.. nonsense

I do will for myself and I love weed. I’m not high 24-7 but I’m definitely not not high 😂

Depends what weed, how much and how often.

I wasted bout 4 years smoking almost everyday some shitty skunk I was getting from a local dealer in a shithole of a town when I was growing up.

Sure had "good" time but at the same time could have gotten good or better at some skills or sports, since I was talented and had sports potential.

In short, smoking hard shit everyday when 16, 17 ish kept my head hazy and thinking about how to get baked with friends.

I regret part of it for sure, since never realized the full potential I had.

For sure it depends on those 3 factors.

No surprise that taking a drug that makes you unproductive makes you unproductive. Weed is a depressant like alcohol.

Sure, there are CEO’s who drink regularly and probably some who smoke often too, but while drunk or high, your ability to get anything productive done drops almost to zero. If you are using up all your free time doing so, you’ll have absolutely no chance to start something unique and interesting!

It’s not really a big deal if you unwind with some drinks on a Friday night with some friends, or smoke some weed a couple days a month to unwind, but doing so every day will make it impossible to succeed, to even what to succeed.

OP' s story is just very specific to their situation. But what I got from it is that essentially you need to get rid of any habits that stunts your progress on the way to build the kind of life you want for yourself

Why do you write like that

These comments are ridiculous. It's perfectly possible that you had a bad relationship with weed and cutting it out has benefitted you tremendously... I don't understand all these people invalidating this. Well done, keep it up
