He was the 4th pick in the 2020 draft and has pretty much done nothing notable in his career. This past game against the Pistons he was benched down the stretch and dropped a whooping 0 points in the game. Is it fair to classify him a bust now?

I think once he's traded he's going to break out. Billy Donovan isn't the greatest coach when it comes to developing young talent.

As a Patrick Williams defender yes

He wants a contract starting with a 2 and we aren't talking $20

I genuinely refuse to label any young player on the Bulls a bust until I see them suck elsewhere. Those mfs could draft prime LeBron and he’d average 16 on 41% shooting. Just look at Lauri Markkenan.

Nah Lauri put up numbers before Boylen. Pat Willy is just a mid role player.

If you wanna say that's not a bust because he probably plays 10 years as a defender that shoots 40% from 3 that's fine, but it's a bust at #4.

its hard for him to create on his own because his handle and finishing arent great and he just sort of looks slow and sometimes clunky with the ball in general. its really hard for him to shoot because he plays with 3 iso players who very rarely pass him the ball and the coach has him sit in the corner all game.

the bulls had 16 assists this game. get him to a team with a competent offensive scheme and i think he can be a solid 3 and d guy. anything past that is going to be limited by his handle/finishing

The biggest issue with Pat is that there's clearly no plan for what he should be doing on the court. People complain he just sits in the corner on offense but that's clearly what he's being told to do. If it wasn't it would have been said by now. If he was ignoring orders just to stand around then he'd have been actually punished for it.

There isn't a clear idea of what he should do. No one tries to get him open shots, and when he gets the ball he's too afraid to shoot. As soon as he goes to a team that provides him actual direction he'll likely take off.

As a Bulls fan we should keep in mind the Bulls have terrible player development so I don’t think he’s a bust until he fails on another team

But He had that one game a few years ago where he was really good.

He was a bust after last year. Daryl Morey says you know what an NBA player is after their 3rd season. After Patrick Williams 3rd season, we learned he's not getting better. He is not a good player.

Bulls and Cavs wasted top picks hoping for a 3&D and each got a bust

Sad
