A place to politely discuss the tools, technique and culture of photography.

This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.

Hello! I’m struggling with balancing exposures in wooded areas, dealing with both sunlight and shadows. Despite adjusting my camera settings and post-processing, I end up with over or underexposed, noisy, or bland colors. I’d love to hear your techniques and any tips, tricks, or YouTube recommendations you have for handling sun highlights, shadows, and preserving colors in forest photography. Thanks in advance!

Unless you specifically want that high contrast in your photo, come back in better light. That could be an overcast day, or just another time of day with the sun in a different position.
