Coming into this season San Francisco was clearly in Super Bowl-or-Bust mode. With Demeco Ryans gone they needed a new defensive coordinator. But that shouldn't have been too hard; with a stacked roster this had to be one of the plum jobs in the NFL.

So who did they choose? Steve Wilks. Good lord, what a horrible coaching job. With the players on this defense to put such a terrible product on the field is absolute coaching malpractice, and San Fran's championship hopes are nosediving down the drain.

If there was a worse hire last offseason, I would love to know who it was.

Man as panthers have Its crazy how often this happens with the Rivera guys. I always see fan bases turn on the soft zone defense every time. McDermott, Leslie Frazier, and now Wilks all eventually seem to have this issue and it has To do with their old school style. McDermott is by far the best of all those guys and a good coach but I know a lot of bills fans question if he can take the all the way. I feel like in today’s age these Rivera tree coaches have a really tough time maintaining a dominant defense nowadays.
