While living in Barcelona I went to 3 FCB matches. In those 3 matches Messi had 11 goals.

That's not to get into the two Di Stefano won, plus the one from Omar Sivori. Both born and raised in Argentina. Weird they are counted for Spain and Italy when literally today in the ceremony they talked about how Luis Suarez' was Spain's only winner.
Yeah in Spain nobody really considers Di Stefanos wins as ours, only Luis Suárez.

Damn. Messi is now the undisputed GOAT. He's got more Ballon d'ors than every other country in the world. Single-handedly put Argentina top of the list from not being on the list. Kinda feels empty now knowing that he's gonna retire soon. Truly the end of an era.

We already had before, Di Stefano was argentinian.
Alfredo Di Stéfano and Omar Sívori are also Argentinian, and it's well known that Spain has only won 1 time with Luis Suárez. So why the hell are they making the list this way?

Didn't even know we had 7 in total. I only knew van Basten, Cruyff and Gulllit won it for us, but not the number of times.
Checked the list and found out that in '88 we got the full top 3 even (1-vBasten, 2-Gullit, 3-Rijkaard), all of whom where playing for Milan at the time. Kinda nuts.
Funny how many people don’t understand that the nationalities listed are the national team represented by the players at the time they won the award.
It’s like complaining that Riyad Mahrez should be counted as French rather than Algerian or Achraf Hakimi should be counted as Spanish instead of Moroccan.
What would be the count if they didn't have that rule in place that only Europeans were allowed to win it?
