Tamron 35-150mm f2

A place to politely discuss the tools, technique and culture of photography.
This is not a good place to simply share cool photos/videos or promote your own work and projects, but rather a place to discuss photography as an art and post things that would be of interest to other photographers.
70-200 f2.8
50mm 1.2 hands down my favorite.
I’m still on my T4i and the 15-85mm still lives on there.
My 60mm macro is hardly used; bit then I pop it on when the time comes and absolutely adore it.
Imma answer twice.
The one that lives on my camera: Sony 24-70 f/2.8
My favorite but far less versatile and therefore used considerably less: Sigma 105mm f/1.4
24-105L F4.....very versatile on full frame and covers most of my shooting needs a lot of the time.
100-400
Light lens labs 35mm. F2. A recreation of the Leica 35mm f2 v1. Brass housing and lanthanide and lead glass it’s made as close as it could be to the original. I put it on about 6 months ago and it hasn’t left my camera ever since.
50mm 1.8
24 f2.8 prime. I was hesitant on posting seeing as how I only have 1yr under my belt with a real camera and only have one other lens to compare it to- Zeiss 24-70 F4(rarely use). The 24 f2.8 really lends well to my favorite type of photography which is low light urban architecture/Storefronts/Murals.
I do alot of "walking" photography, so this lens pretty much lives on my camera. I rarely use the camera bag I bought with the camera. The size of this lens is a positive as well. I typically stuff the camera/lens in a winter stocking cap and that goes into a backpack with everything else needed.
Next camera purchase will be a 50 f1.8. I suspect I'll like that for all the reasons I favor the 24 f2.8 and then some. ZERO interest in a zoom lens.
50 f1.4. It’s my most used and most natural focal length
Any lens from the Sony G-Master series
Fujifilm 33mm F1.4
Sigma 30mm 1.4 is sooo versatile. I’ve used that lens almost exclusively since I got it.
Lately? 40mm f2.5 prime.
35mm sigma art. All my other photos just look less crisp and not quite right. Wish I had a version for every focal length.
135mm 1.8
There have been times I didn't have a 135mm, and during those times, 85mm is my go-to, probably 80% of my pictures.
But when I have a 135, it's probably 50%, 30% with 85mm, 20% with wider lenses.
Most used is probably my 55 - 250 f4
35mm 1.4 sigma art FE, love to use my feet as a zoom!
135mm f/3.5 on 4x5
50mm 1.4
70-200 F2.8
Sony 40mm f/2.5 G
50mm 1.4
I just got the 24-70 2.8 thinking it would take over but omg it’s so huge lol
Depends on the job. Overall probably in this order:
85 f1.8
70-200 f2.8
50 f1.4
15-30 f2.8
24-70 f2.8
I find myself often using the 50mm and my legs at indoor events as the advantage of getting all the way to f1.8 or f2.0 makes quite a bit of difference in terms of needed ISO. I DO eye the Tamron 35-150 f2-2.8 quite often though. Put with that thing on an Z8 and I would probably never change lenses and just use the D850 with the 150-600.
35mm APO summicron. If I could afford one.
Pre Asph Summilux 50.
I shoot APS-C. 70-200 f2.8 and 30 1.4
Sigma 85mm f1.4 art
Sony 200-600mm f5.6-6.3 👌
The 35mm 1.4f Zeiss distagon on my Sony A7iii back when I still shot Sony. I miss that lens…
50 1.2s
RF 28-70mm f2
18-35 f1.8 by sigma. I love getting up close and personal, and it’s made for crop sensors so it’s much tighter than a full sensor 35
50 1.2
50 mm
85 and 16-35
Nikkor Z 100-400mm f/4.5-5.6 VR S. Since getting that lens it has been living on my camera 80-90% of the time for shooting landscapes and wildlife.
Currently it’s the Nikon Z series 85mm 1.2
Used to love a 105mm Micro-Nikkor (f2.8?) I once had.
Canon 14-35 f4 rf
I daresay favorite and go-to are two different things.
Favorite is my 70-200mm L II IS USM f/2.8 but my go-to is my 24-70mm L II USM f/2.8
The 70-200 just feels better but the 24-70 has that more useable range when it comes to shooting most every-day activities.
Big shout out to the Sigma 14mm f/1.8 and the Canon 100-500mm L RF lenses. I've only rented both but both were a dream to work with, obviously much more limited in their scope than two lenses from the holy trinity.
Fujinon XF14mm f 2.8 prime for image quality and XF16-80mm for versatility - guaranteed both will be in the kitbag wherever/whatever I'm shooting
Sony 14mm 1.8 GM, love that lens. Makes me rethink shots when using it. And also the Sony 50mm 1.2 if I am doing photography at night.
35 mm f/1.8 or the 135 f/2
70-200 2.8 on a BlackRapid rig.
24-70 2.8 is the one I use the most. 70-200 2.8 is my favorite.
24-105 f4 oss was my favorite for walking around but I sold it when I got the 24-70 and regret it a bit now :(
