The healthy and well rested Raptors just lost to the worst team in the league (Blazers) on a b2b, without Simons — why won't Masai/MLSE decide to blow it up and give the keys to Barnes?

Barnes is fine, he's developed a reliable scoring prowess while being able to defend 1-5, but everyone else is playing subpar. Why do they keep trying?

excuse me. Precious and Koloko are injured. so this doesn't count right?

Ayton MVP of the game. 23 boards is crazy

[–] yerr2477@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

halfcourt offense other than barnes is fucking ass. toronto hope y’all save him from this mess.

How did Siakam ever make All-NBA?

[–] lazzysmalls@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It’s one of the clunkiest rosters. Siakam has not been great to start either.

[–] Zoratth@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Probably sunk cost fallacy because Masai knows he should have sold last year and gotten assets for FVV before he left for nothing.

[–] the_muskox@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Because they don't make decisions based off the third game of the season with a new coach.

what losing to the blazers does to a mf

[–] Konfliction@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Im a die hard fan, but it should be a firable offence that we don’t even have our pick for this season. It’s a fucking disgrace that every fan on the planet knew what Masai is too god damn blind to see. We should’ve tanked this year. We should’ve tanked last year.

This isn’t Darko’s fault, this isn’t Pascal or Gary’s fault, this is 100% on Masai and every single thing that’s happened since the Poeltl trade is literally all on Masai.

He should be ashamed of himself for how blindly he’s ran this team. I haven’t been this frustrated by this team since the Bargnani days, and at least we had our god damn picks then.

Because that would make too much sense

[–] Anal_Iverson@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It's really impressive how horrible this team is offensively

[–] defaultcanadian@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

If we lost to the worst team in the NBA then it makes us the worst team in the NBA. It's at least we're the best at being the worst!

[–] jjkiller26@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

They probably will. He was shopping siakam all offseason, i dont think that opinion has suddenly changed with the way the season started

[–] legend023@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

They might do it, it’s just been 4 games lmao

[–] spellbreakerstudios@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Top 6 protected? We’re def gonna be getting a top 6 pick lol

[–] Oozeinator@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I wanna blow it up just as much as the next guy but healthy and well rested? Our 2 back up Cs are hurt, OG isn’t 100% and we’re one day removed from a b2b, one of which went into OT.

Blow it up but that title is lies lmao

My personal head-cannon is that our ownership is desperate for any chance at postseason ticket revenues and won’t let Masai pull the plug and re-build properly.

Not much evidence to support this thought process, beyond the fact that Ed Rogers is a cunt.

[–] The-Pharcyde@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Raptors FO are the only ones on earth that cant see the obvious.

[–] Handcuffed@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

why would anyone trust masai at this point to lead the rebuild? it's pretty clear his vision for the team (prioritizing length at the expense of spacing/shooting) isn't working.

he's had an inordinate amount of chances over the last 2 years to make moves to balance his team. but he lost FVV for nothing and might lose Siakam and/or OG for the same. even if he moves them this year, they're worth much less than they were when he first could've gone to the market.

[–] Aggressive-Ad-756@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Somehow, this is vanvleet fault according to raptors fans

[–] AwsomeOne7@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

We are gonna be bottom of the league any ways, at the deadline probably gonna rip the bandage

[–] Powerglove2000@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Maybe we need a players only meeting.

[–] rattatatouille@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It's even funnier because Toronto has the incentive to tank this season. If they finish outside the top 6 in the lottery we get their pick.

Realistically, we can't even blow it up this season. Even if we somehow become one of the worst team in the league (still a very high chance we fall outside bottom 6), we will just give up our 1st round pick in 2025 or 2026.

We're in a tough spot lol.

[–] AdMajor660@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

I'm glad someone understands this. The competition for the bottom is nearly as competitive as the top. Wizards, blazers, pistons, hornets, spurs, rockets are likely bottom 6 teams. I would expect the bulls to unload their roster and join these teams as well.

[–] packim0p@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Masai knows what he's got. 3 frp for OG no low ball offers 😤😤😤

[–] DankTriangle@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Hey now, the Wizards are giving us some real competition for worst team

[–] noochies99@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

They’ll never just tank, because you know, ratings on their own networks

[–] electricHats75@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Blow what up? What’s the point of just trading away players to not be competitive in hopes of being able to draft the players you traded away?

[–] mxgicjohnson@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It’s early, what team has blown it up 3 games in?

They probably will blow it up dude, just give it some time

[–] empowered676@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

It's early season And spurs need that pick so no

[–] Longshanks2020@alien.top 1 points 2 years ago

Time to recoup assets on Siakam and OG.
